Documentary style movie with a series of captivating interconnected storylines. Slow paced but because of the fascinating topic(s) presented throughout, it doesn't feel long or trivial. A good movie worth watching a least once. The follow-up movie Syriana is also worth checking out.
Here's what I consider a well-balanced movie centring on drug trafficing in the US and Mexico and its effects. Without moralising it raises all manner of questions about drug laws. There are several plot lines going on, some linked some not. I didn't find this confusing but I'm not sure on a first viewing that I was smart enough to follow them all so it's a movie I'd want to see again. I'd single out the performances of Michael Douglas and his daughter (Erika Christiansen) for special mention but all the cast was convincing for me. Definitely 4.5 stars.
Not bad, but more like a documentary rather than a movie difficult to keep up with the change of scenes.
But still worth a watch if like to know bout the drug trafficing in todays world.
Great cast, like the contrast and how the characters lives cross. I would say that Benicio Del Toro was the best actor in this movie. Michael Douglas always plays well as does Catherine Zeta Jones. A must see especially if you feel drugs are good.
No wonder this won so many Oscars. FANTASTIC. Stellar cast, super storyline. Interesting to see CJZ
Gives a new meaning to the words "War against Drugs" A realistic and honest potrayal of drug business in United States. Steven Soderberg's best offering.
get out of the car and shoot em in the head...zeta jones as a wife of a drug lord?
thats what makes it great from mexico to
the socialites daughter thats drug traffic and this movie is outstanding and benicio is Fantastic
This film explores illicit drug trade between the US and Mexico and the effect it has on all aspects of society in both nations. May I say "addictive viewing"?
Depressing to think the drug trade has created so much corruption and crime due to the massive amounts of money it generates. This is not a movie to uplift but star performances and story are engrossing.
Gripping, raw insight into the world of a double agent. Where does the line blur?
Wow! This is realistic, and quite chilling too.
