A six-year-old Andy's favourite toy, Woody (Tom Hanks), used to be confident in his role as room leader. But at Andy's birthday party, newcomer Buzz (Tim Allen), a flashy space ranger with an ego in orbit, crash-lands into Woody's world. When their rivalry sends the toy duo into the clutches of a nasty neighbour kid, however, they learn they've got the perfect friend - in each other.

I showed this to my almost three-year-old over the weekend. As soon as it ended, it turned to me and asked to watch it again. Needless to say, he loved it. For me personally, it was a lovely trip down memory lane. I saw Toy Story at the movies back when it first came out and it's still very entertaining. I still laugh at Woody losing his temper at the service station.

A clever and entertaining movie for kids and adults alike. It showed that toys are subject to the same foibles that humans are.

Disney classic, community value ethics tutoring in an entertainment mode. Kids love it and so did we. Would rent again for entertainment of children in our family.

Even though i am older than when i first watched this dvd when i was younger i still achieve the same amount of enjoyment when watching this timeless Disney classic. Filled with humorous quirks and elements for the whole family this tale about toys and going into their world shows the magic from the other side of the toybox. An enjoyment every time.. Highly recommended..

This still sets the standard for modern animated films. There have been many fine ones since but none have topped it. It makes it clear that the technically wizardry is completely subservient to the narrative; right where it should be and something that a lot of non-animated films could learn from.

This is the pioneer of the genre. A beautifully told tale. I'd forgotten how good it was as I love Toy Story 2 so much. Shrek and Shrek 2 Finding Nemo & Ice Age are others to see again.
