To Sir, With Love (1967)

Very well acted movie with excellant story, real tear movie for the ladies We enjoyed watching it again for the third time

One of my all time favourites and hasn't lost anything over the years.

Not to bad. As a high school teacher though in today's terms a pretty tame class. And it portrayed an awful lot of freedom in what he could do.

I'm still melting with this beautiful movie. I think many schools could do with a teacher like him. Awesome movie and story

A new teacher arrives at a school in London's East End, the poorest part of the city. This is his first appointment and his class is a rowdy out-of-control bunch of kids in the their last year at school. He gets taunted and tested as to how much he'll take in the way of bad behaviour and regrettably even loses his temper on one occasion. But by treating the kids like adults and raising questions about such things as work, love, sex and marriage, which they have never before discussed seriously, gradually achieves their respect. An inspirational movie with a cool and controlled Sidney Poitier responding to provocations in the classroom with just the right touch.

I have seen TO SIR WITH LOVE at least fifteen times over the past few years and it seems to me that I enjoy it even MORE now. In my opinion at least, if we had real life teachers like him, schools wouldn't have the problems that they do. solomale
