In the post-apocalyptic future, reigning tyrannical supercomputers teleport a cyborg assassin known as the "Terminator" (Arnold Schwarzenegger) back to 1984 to snuff Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose unborn son is destined to lead insurgents against 21st century mechanical hegemony. Meanwhile, the human-resistance movement dispatches a lone warrior (Michael Biehn) to safeguard Sarah. Can he stop the virtually indestructible killing machine??

One of the greatest movies of all time! the part of the terminator suites Arnold Scwarzernegger perfectly. And the special effects are awesome for 1984. Check this one out

This is a "classic" , great script, great direction by James Cameron.
This will be a classic movie in years to come.

I saw the second movie before watching this one. I enjoy the second much more because of the special effects. But I think it was a good movie for its time.

Somewhat overated actioner that hasn't aged as well as it might (compare with Bladerunner). The electronic soundtrack is quite tinny and annoying at times. 3.5 stars

Great Sci-Fi with Arnie as the machine / terminator from the future sent back in time to kill the mother of mans only hope Sarah Conner, this movie is way ahead of its time with great effects and great cast. One of the best around. Must see.

This is a must see. Although Arnie had limited speaking parts in this film (which is probably a good thing), some of his retorts have become legend, eg "I'll be back". The persona of the Terminator being an unemotional, mindless killing machine, fits Arnie down to the ground.

This is one of the rare instances when the sequels are better than the original. Far better! I know the special effects technology wasn't as good back then, and it probably had a high wow factor at the time. But, in the end it doesn't cut the mustard for me. Fortunately the director, James Cameron, made amends with Terminator 2.
