I started getting a tad disinterested but am glad to see it had a sting in the tail at the end. I did not see it coming, like some may have. 2 fathers: 1 who doesn't care the pain his son causes others and 1 who would do anything for his daughter. An enormous difference between the two.
Bit slow, also plot is nothing new.
The plot was complicated but yet very clear, acting was exceptional and the story line was good. The surprise ending where the Dr Becks met up with his supposedly murdered wife, Margot, after 8 years interval was touching.
This is one of the many French movies which were par excellent.
An intriguing story....kept one guessing and on the edge of the chair.
I read the book and the movie was ok. The book is always better though and I would rather read the story than watch it.
What I loved about the TV show "The Killing", was that it kept you guessing the entire series, but ultimately the murderer turned out to be a character who was present throughout the entire show.
***SPOILER ALERT!*** Unfortunately, that's exactly where this film falls apart. It is good at building and maintaining suspense, and you definitely become intrigued and want to find out what is going on, but in the end when you get the explanation, it's disappointing. I think it's kind of lazy storytelling when someone who barely merited a mention early in the film was suddenly responsible for the entire thing. If it weren't for that, this film would have been much better, and probably would have even merited five stars.
An enjoyable thriller which lags a little in terms of pace midway through the film and then is almost too hurried in its attempt to wrap everything up in the final scenes. I agree with JeffK ; I've seldom seen so many plot twists and red herrings in a film before. Ultimately, there are so many that the narrative's credibility gets stretched to breaking point on more than one occasion - but at least it keeps you guessing.
Tell no one (Ne le dis a personnel) has more twists and turns than has a tortured willow. That said it is a suspenseful film that moves along at pace. The plot is dubious, practically melodramatic, but because the characters are believable and idiosyncratic the movies works.
The story line was enhanced by the flashbacks, which also built the suspense. The main characters were well developed and acted to provide an overall satisfying love story.
One of the best suspense thriller movies; the love between Alex and Margot is such an incredible bond, yet very believable. Such a twist in the end, I would have never expected that person to be it!!! The reasons behind what they did also made sense and believable. I can’t praise enough about Guillaume Canet – astonishingly talented director and also an actor – young genius of our time. Definitely a 5 star film.
I would have given it 4 stars, but it was difficult to follow at times because of the quick sub-titles and I think some things were lost in translation. Still it was a very engrossing movie and well worth the effort!
Well crafted and well acted movie but you have to fast at reading the sub titles but well worth viewing.
Well crafted, very captivating & well acted
Pretty good, but a bit too complex and far fetched.
A gripping tale! You soon get used to the subtitles, although you need to concentrate that much more so you don't miss anything. Highly recommended!
Great stylish mystery/ thriller
the best foreign film i have rented so far. i love conspiracies, and this was a good one. perhaps slightly long, but engrossing just the same.
We enjoyed this movie - had some nice twists that kept us guessing!!
An OK movie ..the twists and turns are overdone and the plot is over complicated..a good story badly directed..a 6/10 for effort
Good entertainment and credible enough story line - sort of. Took me a while to work out who everyone was in the film but maybe I'm just a bit slow. Worth watching just to see the female "bad girl" who comes along towards the end, one seriously tough lady. Probably a 3 and half star but will give it 4 coz of the mean chick character.
A great story, well paced with good characterisation. Well worth seeing.
these guys are quick to send out before you can change your mind - I had no idea it was in sub titles *sigh*
A marvellously complex and compelling movie, with dead villains all over the place. The hero is on the brink of death most of the movie, but of course survives. French quality, good English subtitles. Highly recommended, but watch it like a hawk as the inter-relationships are twisted together like braided rope.
I watched it last Sunday and I've forgotten it already! Now that I've cranked up the synopsis on BP I remember it, and remember quite enjoying its rather improbable plot, but that's not the same as a memorable film, eh?
A fantastic adaptation of a great Harlan Coben novel. Brilliant soundtrack, editing and cast. Well worth watching.
Enjoyed a worthwhile view
Tell No One is fantastic. I read the Harlem Coben book a few years ago and completely loved it. i was surprised to see the remake was in french though because the book was american. overall a fantastic watch if you can stand reading subtitles.
Could have been superb except for confused editing.
Great! Lots of twists and turns and at times a little consfusing, but hang in there, it all comes together in the end!
Great viewing. An intriguing and well plotted mystery with fine acting.
One of the best I've seen in quite a while, maintaining tension throughout.
Excellent movie..faithful to the book, and well deserving of the awards it won in France. We doubt that Hollywood could have done it better! Highly recommend
Alex, a pediatrician in a Paris hospital, is accused of murdering his wife, Margo, 8 years ago. He has always been a suspect, but when two male bodies are found close to the lake where she and Alex had been swimming, and where she had disappeared, the case is reopened. Alex is once again grilled by the local gendarmerie, and when they search his apartment and find what they think is the murder weapon, they descend on the hospital to arrest him. But he's warned by his lawyer, escapes through a window and goes on the run. Alex thinks that his wife may still be alive. There have been links on his computer that may have come from her, including very grainy webcam footage of a woman standing in a street among passers-by, and a recent cryptic e-mail, 'Tell no one. They're watching'. A loose adaptation by the author of his successful American novel, it has an intricate plot not easy to follow, and characters' relationships with each other, not always clear. But it is an absorbing thriller with some brilliant set pieces, and all is revealed at the end. Kristine Scott Thomas stands out in an otherwise French cast. A mystery thriller better than most.
I really like it; have never read the book.
Excellent movie -- simply thrilling and sad at the same time.
excellent, havent heard of the book.
it was romantic, exciting & keept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen.
i really enjoyed it
No where near as good as the book.
Disappointing movie of the enjoyable Harlen Coben book. Very little tension, confused direction and mediocre editing.
