Surf’s Up is an animated comedy that delves behind the scenes of the high-octane world of competitive surfing. The film profiles teenage Rockhopper penguin, Cody Maverick (voiced by Shia LaBeouf), an up-and-coming surfer, as he enters his first pro competition. Followed by a camera crew to document his experiences, Cody leaves his family and home in Shiverpool, Antarctica to travel to Pen Gu Island for the Big Z Memorial Surf Off.

Much better than "Happy Feet", an interesting semi-mockumentary story that has a few good laughs and relatable characters, if not a few questionable stereotypes.

Very funny. It had us in stiches. You can tell who ever helped write it was into surfing. Lots of little things that only a true surfer would know. We enjoyed it so much, we didn't want it to end. I highly reccommed this movie if you need a good laugh.

I think the adults liked it more than the kids. Maybe our kids were a bit little for it - being 6 and 3. Both got a bit bored.

I was a little disappointed with this movie, as I was expecting at least something similar to "Happy Feet". The reporter that followed the penguins around for interviews begun to wear very thin, it would have been better to have minimised that particular area as it disrupted the flow of the movie too much.
This movie would be probably be enjoyed by young children, but not one for the whole family as a group that could sit through without becoming quite annoyed with the paparazzi.
There are better movies than this.

We all loved this movie, kids adults and all. Although it was Ratatouille that critics raved about last year, we all thought this was far more fun. The way the story is told as a no holes barred documentary creates some unique opportunities for humour. I haven't seen "Happy Feet" yet, but for a Penguin movie this one would be hard to beat. :) I only give 5 stars for a movie I could watch over and over again, and this is definitely one of them.
