As friends in a small Italian neighbourhood become obsessed with the idea that the Son of Sam is someone nearby, the madman's fearsome plague of terror becomes the catalyst that prompts relationships to fall apart and trust to disintegrate into dread.

A good watch, though not entirely realistic vocab for the era. Mira Sorvino is wonderful, but doesn't exactly ring true as a woman of those times. Very stylish makeup hair and clothes...which to my memory didn't actually exist in that period! Interesting, but not a great film

Not for those who like it fast and furious, or who want their characters likeable, this is nonetheless a decent 'New York' drama. Interesting from the point of view that the male characters play against type - the 'nice' straight (!) Italian boys are intolerant and violent, and the weird (in this 'hood) bisexual punk is probably the most straight down the line in terms of treating others with any semblance of humanity.

Spike Lee seems to struggle to portray some fairly unlikeable characters is this disjointed tale or prejudice and fear.
