Started very confusing but made sense about a 1/3 of the way in (as much as it could make sense considering the premise)

This should have been a really good popcorn movie, but despite the pretty scantily clad women with big guns and lots of explosions and some good ideas it was mostly terribly boring. It was bad acting, silly plot (which has been done before in better films such as Brazil) and chauvinism dressed up as female empowerment which made this movie one big mess. It wasn’t all bad; a couple of notable gems were a tracking shot around a mirror and the World War 1 battle. These were both good pieces of SFX cinematography. It seemed that while watching the end credits that the writer/ director really would have liked to have done a song and dance movie like Moulin Rouge/ Chicago but thought ‘nah that has been done before, I need guns, explosions and decapitations and lots of them and screw an understandable plot!’ A lot of the time this movie felt like a video game that the viewer had no control over. Many of the set piece action scenes could have easily fitted into a half decent game as they had the usual quest elements of levels that most games have, that is run around, collect the pieces such as a map or key, solve puzzles and confront the end of level boss.

Having learned over the years that to involve preconception, the acceptance of nonsense or to thumbs down those things too ludicrous to sport merit, merely results in sulking. Enjoying a movie requires an open mind; EG. One whose predilection is Action could not enjoy a film the ilk of The Kings Speech! Of course in many cases this is true, due to a closed mind. Open the mind though and a whole new world lay open to investigation. My preamble revolves around ridiculous movies such as Sucker Punch. Shot in a very ‘arty’ manner, with more and more of this style hitting celluloid, the fanciful Sucker Punch could slightly easily be discarded by closed minds as a ‘junker’. However those prepared to throw care or real thought to the wind will enjoy what is a genuinely entertaining film. Mind you, this is only an opinion, and I am sure many will think I am mad.

didn't watch whole movie, and it isn't because it is not my type of movie. I thought even in blu ray was pretty poor quality, grainy, just couldn't be bothered watching it, just didn't like it at all, seemed like it was going to be an alright movie until the third scene

Violent action, extremely well done. Pure exercise in how far CG's can be pushed. Very enjoyable and totally recommended.

Great movie, definitely not what I was expecting and to be honest, it had me quite confused for a bit at the start but eventually pieces started to come together. Great action scenes and visuals and a dark, twisted storyline which will make you think. Definitely one more aimed towards a male audience. Get the extended version if you can as there's apparently quite a bit of footage taken out of the theatrical version!

The worst movie I have ever watched. Would suit a 13 year old male looking for a bit of a perv. I'll give it 1 star for the eye candy.

Great action flick if you don't mind the lack of a decent plot. Slow start to the movie and a little confusing. The music is great as well, punchy beats, full of action.

There are certain aspects to this film that are so unsettling I'm surprised it escaped with a mere M rating. The darkness of this film is contrasted by vivid action sequences which seem to only accentuate the darker aspects of this movie. I'm at real loss to decide whether I loved or hated this movie, I suppose the test of any good art work is it's capacity to move you, so I'm forced to give this a 5 star rating.
