A young couple (James Marsden and Kate Bosworth) moves to a quaint southern town. This movie moved extremely slow. Parts of it didn't make sense and the ending tied up no loose ends.
Overall it was fairly boring and I would not recommend.

Waste of time really, if you want to see an attractive young woman struting her stuff infront of a bunch of men to the confusion of her husband, who are both supposed to be intelects.... than this is the movie for you. I'm only giving it two stars because I only made it half way through (and cant speak for the other half) it was so boring and didnt get to see any action of any kind.... sorry

Not quite what I was expecting, but the script and acting is top shelf for a thriller. A few moments actually shocked me, and by the end I felt satisfied with this movie as a whole, it just doesn't do anything extraordinary.

Considering the movie had a great cast, this film and story line did not work for me at all... considering how realistically uncomfortable the rape scene was it makes you wonder how Kate Bosworth and Alex Skarsgard got into a romantic relationship in real life!!

Fairly slow paced movie. As others have said, the acting was ok, but there was a lot of nothingness until the end of the movie which didn't quite meet my expectations. After reading the synopsis I was expecting a movie similar to The Strangers - which i'd definitely recommend - but this was far from it.

What I like is the very good acting. Marsden has never been so good. What I hate is how the plot unfolds and gets too much improbable. The characters (especially the victims) just behave unlogically and you wonder if they are humans! So the real weakness of the movie might be the script and unfortunately that's all it takes to turn a good movie into a bad one. A shame when it started so well and the actors were doing such a good job.

L.A. screenwriter David Sumner relocates with his wife to her hometown in the deep South. There, while tensions build between them, a brewing conflict with locals becomes a threat to them both. You just want wring the necks of these good ole boys who think they are above the law. James Woods is marvelous as the redneck from hell. I enjoyed this film

An OK re-make of the 1971 Straw Dogs starring Dustin Hoffman. Basically a story of a city slicker mixing it with the local yokels, throw in a sexy wife, a rape, and lots of violence and that in a nutshell is the Movie.
