After receiving a vision from Obi-Wan Kenobi and fleeing the ice world of Hoth with his friends after an Imperial attack, Luke Skywalker travels to the marsh planet of Dagobah, where he is instructed in the ways of the Force by the legendary Jedi master Yoda. Meanwhile, Han Solo and Princess Leia make their way to planet Bespin, where they are greeted by Han's old friend, a shifty gambler named Lando Calrissian. Ambushed by the Empire shortly after their arrival, Han and his friends are imprisoned by Darth Vader. Luke leaves Dagobah to rescue his friends, and is met by Vader and a startling revelation.

What more can be said... an all-time classic. While it doesn't have the simplicity or feel-good factor of the previous film, there's a lot more depth here... obviously wrought by a better director. I've always found it interesting that Han Solo overtakes Luke in this film as the lead protagonist (a reflection of the character's popularity?). Great viewing.

The most amazing episode of the Star Wars Saga!!! This is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. The romance between Solo and Leia is funny, moving and totally believable (unlike episode 2!) The rebel alliance gets the crap beaten out of them in this episode but they still manage to survive the hammering and come out ready and fighting for episode 6, not to mention the whole cast of good guys get knocked about (Solo, Leia and Luke, even poor C-3PO!!!) but come out the other end stronger people. Vader is at his "best" in this one and the empire reaches their peak (in both recruitment and leadership im guessing!). Cloud City on Bespin is also an incredible world. AAA Viewing.
