It never ceases to amaze me how far ahead of its time Star Trek was. I saw the original TV series all those years ago and apart from the scientific concepts there were also philosophical ideas, human dilemma and ideological concepts. Star Trek V, the Final Frontier had all these and more. Toward the end of the movie I thought for a while they had found God. This was cleverly done but as it turned out it wasn't God at all. It was the ego projection of the megalomaniac who had brought them there.

I liked this film. It was quite entertaining. I'm not a real fan of Shatner so expected not to like the film, but was proved wrong.
