The Stalls of Barchester - Ambitious cleric Dr Haynes engineers the aged Archdeacon of Barchester's murder to die so that he can take his place. Soon, he is being stalked by a sinister black cat and by a hooded figure both of which seem to have sprung to life from carvings on the cathedral's choir stalls.
A Warning to the Curious - Antiquarian Paxton travels to a small town on the coast of Norfolk and learns of a legend concerning three crowns buried on the coast thousands of years ago to protect the land against marauding Vikings.
