Goon But Not Forgotten is an intimate and deeply personal portrait of Spike Milligan, told from the perspectives of his brother Desmond, daughters Laura, Sile and Jane, and his third wife, Shelagh. Each saw a very different side of this complex and multifaceted man who has forever changed English comedy and blew raspberries at the notions of decorum and deference. Through their eyes we see Spike as a father, brother and a deeply troubled and difficult husband and a man who trod the thin line between genius and debilitating depression. The story of Spike's professional life is revealed through his two managers, Beryl Virtue and Norma Farnes, and colleagues such as Erick Sykes, John Bluthall, John Cleese, and Michael Parkinson. This one-hour documentary reveals the man who changed the face of English comedy and left and an indelible impression wherever he went.
