Moderate Action Violence
Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) has finally managed to strike a balance between his devotion to MJ (Kirsten Dunst) and his duties as a superhero. But there is a storm brewing on the horizon.
When his suit suddenly changes, turning jet black and enhancing his powers, it transforms Peter as well, bringing out the dark, vengeful side of his personality that he is struggling to control. Under the influence of the suit, Peter becomes over-confident and starts to neglect the people who care about him most.
Forced to choose between the seductive power of the new suit and the compassionate hero he used to be, Peter must overcome his personal demons as two of the most feared villains yet, Sandman and Venom (Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace), gather unparalleled power and a thirst for retribution to threaten Peter and everyone he loves.

One of the more obvious cases of "sequelitis" around. Toby Macguire's gawky half-breaking voice was refreshing in the first one but now just grates. The love triangle between the three friends is now exhausted and even the baddies are confused without any kind of governing raison d'etre. This franchise needs to be retired.

Only 2 good parts in this movie, one, when he sat on top of the building and said, "WHERE DO THESE GUYS COME FROM?" and when he was a bad Spiderman, the rest was crap. Very disappointed in this one, the first and second were excellent, but this one, recks. it would have been so much better if he stayed bad, why is HOLLYWOOD so predictable, imagine if they changed their boring culture, and kept him bad, then it would have been a nominee for a GRAMMY or whatever awards they give these days. Nah! Don't watch it! I only marked it a three because I am a softy and I loved the bad spiderman bit. Oh! Also the graphics sucked.

A shocker. Terrible, boring film with virtually no story or plot development. Overuse of CGI deadens any impact of stunts - outcome totally predictable - waste of time and to think, Spiderman 4 is being planned!

Good story, supported by strong effects as Peter struggles to reconcile the past, the future with his present dramas. Peter fights his internal demons and external foes and shows being human is still part of being super-human. Worth a watch and best done in order to appreciate what came before, but not vital.

I'm a fan of the Spiderman franchise but didn't think this one was nearly as good as the first two. Comic book conversions are meant to be a bit silly and unrealistic but this one was a bit TOO silly. Still enjoyed it though.

This movie is an interesting spin on the previous two. I like some of the imagry used at the end which of course I can't talk about without giving the end away. I like how the black suit changes Parker.. and the teeth on the smarmy reporter are something else.

The 3rd installment in the Spiderman movies is certainly one of the most dissappointing of the 3. While Tobey McGuire was an ill choice as Parker, this movie certainly high-lights it. It's saving grace is the special effects.

Poor peter still has not had a chance to marry his dream girl, but they did end up with each other which is a plus. also tells me that the good guys win again .

I was so looking forward to seeing this movie and to tell you the truth I was a very disappointed. The special effects were excellent but the story lacked. Tobey Maguire was very good as the black spidey, but I think that his ‘do good image’ as spidey needs a revamp. Kirsten Dunst is easy on the eyes but a wasted space in this movie. Good to watch but I was disappointed with the story and how it flowed.

After having watched it several times our whole family came to the conclusion that it was one of the greatest movies that we have seen and certainly the best of the Spider Man movies. Fantastic effects, a brilliant storyline that had great moral fibre overall and a splendid cast. Definately do not miss this one !

Dull, dull, dull. Cliché riddled, muddled plot that struggles to go anywhere.
Action sequences are so OTT and so obviously CGI that they are meaningless.
Does any character in this film do anything but feel sorry for themselves?

I really enjoyed the first two and this was excellent as well. At times it dragged a little when indulging in sentimentality. Some CGI sequences were frustrating because they were too frantic to follow. As pure entertainment, it was good fun...as usual Stan Lee does a little cameo.
