Wow. I watched the cartoon as a kid and it was great to see this made into a movie. OK, so the script is a bit tacky (maybe a lot), but the special effects are great and if you can handle subtitles and watched the cartoon as a kid its definitely entertaining. Suspect I might be slightly overrating this, so feel free to allow for 1 star removed (but I did watch it twice)

the trailer is better. Too somber for my taste

This is proably one of the better live action anime remakes I've seen in quite some time, It plot line has been compressed and the bad guys altered to fit a single movie outline but other than that its pretty darn good and well worth the watch if your a fan of the original Japanese anime or the Americanised version called Starblazers. All up a quite entaining film.

It had potential but then it took so long to get to the end. Did not find the hero very appealing he looked to much like a girl.

I also really enjoyed this movie. The plot was not new but was a different approach to many others. I found following along with the sub-titles OK, obviously it would have been better if it was in English.

really enjoyed this, over 120 mins. & not boring at all. Kept moving all the way through from start to finish. Well put together, action packed with some twists & turns, even a love scene in amongst it all. recomended if you like japanese genre & don't mind subtitles. Subtitles are easy to keep up with in this one :)

Star Trek meets Star Wars in Japanese. Very dramatic and very futuristic.
