17-year old Sophie has two great loves - ballet and animals. Growing up on her parents’ family owned zoo, she dreams of studying ballet. With the zoo in trouble, Sophie’s parents are forced to sell her best friend, Sheba the elephant, to a traveling circus. Sophie decides to abandon her dreams of becoming a dancer in order to get Sheba back. She charms her way into a summer job where her natural performing ability and special bond with Sheba is recognized by the circus owner. As she falls in love with Blake, a fellow circus artist, Sophie comes to understand that in order for Sheba to be happy she must be sent home to Africa to live as nature had intended.

A good movie for the family. Has a nice message for all. I would have loved to see more of the circus act however that wasn;t what the movie was about.
