Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) is a talented attorney at a top New York law firm, a generous and loyal friend and, unhappily, still single..as her engaged best friend Darcy (Kate Hudson) is constantly reminding her. But after one drink too many at her 30th birthday party, perpetual good girl Rachel unexpectedly ends up in bed with the guy she's had a crush on since law school, Dex (Colin Egglesfield), who just happens to be Darcy's fiancé. When Rachel and Darcy's lifelong friendship collides with true love, it leads to unexpected complications and potentially explosive romantic revelations. Meanwhile, Ethan (John Krasinski), who has been Rachel's constant confidante and sometimes conscience, has been harbouring a secret of his own, and Marcus (Steve Howey), an irrepressible womaniser, can't keep his mind out of the gutter or his hands off any girl within reach.

The movie was ok. If you enjoy romcoms you will enjoy this.
Ginnifer is a standout. I felt Dex was a bit lifeless and didn't feel any chemistry with Rachel or Darcy (his fiancee). When he kisses Rachel you expect it to be explosive, instead it's kinda lukewarm. Darcy started by being a seemingly wonderful friend who organises this wonderful party. However, as the movie progresses she seems to lose IQ points by the minute and by the end is an imbecile.
A side note. I couldn't understand how Rachel didn't have a handbag for 80% of the movie. How do you pay for lunch, drinks or even get back into your apartment without your keys.

I enjoyed this because I'm a fan of Ginnifer Goodwin but the plot is average and at times a bit squirmy due to the triangulation of the cast.

If you think you have seen the WORST MOVIE EVER, then you haven't seen this one yet! Acting & script were atrocious and I hated all the characters because they were all so unlikeable......it could have been so much better, what a waste of time and money making this rubbish.

Entertaining fluff. Higher quality than other fluff. Interesting that the cast look like young "versions" of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Goldie Hawn (that one isn't so surprising, but she's still playing the same roles her mother played). Déjà vu.

As far as Rom/Coms go, this one is way above par. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, with John Krasinski as Ethan having the best lines by far (just a shame he wasn't featured in it more). Only thing that annoyed me was I felt I was watching Tom Cruise (& not Colin Egglesfield), from about 10-15 years ago. Talk about being separated at birth!! Anyway, that aside, this was a very enjoyable movie, & would recommend highly.

I did not like this move. The actors were unbelievable and Kate Hudson was the worst. It is unthinkable that she could be the friend of anyone the way she was portrayed in this movie. The best friend of Rachel, Ethan is just laid aside and ignored by her. What kind of people are these? Selfish, stupid, ridiculous. I hope they don't exist in reality.

This is some kind of romantic/comedy drama built around a group of not very likeable characters, by the end of the film I didn't want any of them to happy. The material it covered was actually interesting and not so common in the genre, however turning the characters into caricatures made for a particularly unimpressive film.

Not your typical chick flick... because usually I love those for a bit of escapism!
The storyline is based around two best friends and one fiance... the film slams you with the "girl sleeping with her best friend's fiance" very early in the piece and then tries to explain away why this is "ok" based on flash backs of the characters. Perhaps if they had done it the other way around and we'd built a relationship with the characters from the start, as an audience we might have accepted the betrayal, but honestly, I just found it ridiculous - could not sympathise with the "romance" in this at all.
Pretty disappointed - loved John Kranski though, he was great and if anything stopped me from turning the film off it was him, he has some funny moments and is genuinely likeable. The only likeable character really!

mmm...sleeping with your best friends fiance...a fiance who is no knight in shining armour...definitely no great prize to fight for. Give me a romantic lead with spunk please. Story line sucked. Movie salvaged by good acting from too likeable characters Ginnifer and the man she didn't take. This movie was OK, but if you've planning to sit through it with your husband or partner don't. They'll puke. Watch it when you've run out of everything else.

wow... and not in a good way. A very sadistic 110 minutes. Watching selfish people deal with their inner demons is not how I want to spend a night in front of the TV. feel good, yet emotional girlie movie. a reminicscent of typical relationships in real life. a story of a love triangle that tests friendships and to follow your heart. a nice story that tests your beliefs on 'true love'. And goodness me, Kate Hudson plays the narcissitic roles well! I enjoyed this movie but it did bring a tear to my ear towards the end! awesome chick flick!

best . The story line was quite good and with Ginnifer Goodwin as Kate's best
friend they combined well together. Good acting all round and well directed.

Real enjoyed this great movie, brilliant cast and enjoyable storyline. Nothing unique in the story but the way it was put together and the characters portrayed made it an easy, pleasant with lots of funny moments and tear jerkers. For the lovers of good comedy romances this is definately a winner.
