An extrordinary drama dealing with a sex crime(s) that forever changes the lives of a group of friends as kids, who decide it's time for some payback when they become adults. Fantastic atmosphere throughout the whole movie and superb performances by all the kids and the adult actors who replace them later in the movie. Robert De Niro is brilliant as Father Bobby and even a cameo appearance by Dustin Hoffman is memorable. The soundrack to this is moving, emotional and faultless in conveying the story and drama behind this fine film! Must see.

This is a truly gripping story. It has the right balance of depressing, happy and completely disturbing material. When you add a great cast and a very underrated director to the mix you can't expect anything less than a good show. Might be a bit intense for some people, but I'm telling you that this is great storytelling.

Strong script, strong cast, tight direction and great cinematography. The worst part of the movie, and the best, is that it is supposedly based on a true story. Truly horrific.

Very disturbing and emotional account of the lives of 4 boys who would be men and their treatment by a group of disgusting power hungry abusive men and their ultimate retribution, which is worth the wait.

A very powerful (supposedly true) story of the torture and abuse of boys in a reform school. As grown men they seek revenge on the guards who mistreated them. Great cast with Dustin Hoffman shining as the alcoholic defence lawyer.

A great movie, kept our attention throughout. It potrals a group of kids who thru unfortunate misadvertnure find themselves at the mercy of inhumane wardens in a juvenile detection centre. The old laws of karma come in to the final outcome.
