Director: Rob Stewart
Actor: Rob Stewart

For film maker Rob Stewart, exploring sharks began as an underwater adventure. What it turned into was a beautiful and dangerous life journey into the balance of life on earth. Driven by passion fed from a life long fascination with sharks, Stewart debunks historical stereotypes and media depictions of sharks as bloodthirsty, man eating monsters and reveals the reality of sharks as pillars in the evolution of the seas.

this documentary made me so angry at the cruel wasteful shark fin industry. 100,000,000 sharks of all species are caught each year to, have their fins sliced off, and then they are discarded back into the ocean to die a slow painful death. It's horrible and all for the sake of a traditional, Chinese dish - shark fin soup. I respect cultural differences and traditions, but the shark fin industry is threatening the very existence of sharks and the health of our oceans.

That cause being to show us the beauty of these wonderful creatures and challenge their demonisation in our media and popular culture. Amazing documentary. Both beautiful and horrifying. Shows both sides of humanity in such contrasting lights, the good and the greedy. Amazing underwater shots of these beautiful creatures of the sea shot and narrated by a man who has dedicated his life to such a good cause, to help save sharks and raise awareness to the cruelty and evil that is shark finning.
