As a conceited scholar of the Ming Dynasty, Wei Yangsheng believes in pursuing the ultimate sexual pleasure as life is short. Typical Hong-Kong cinema (with English sub-titles): Very cruel indeed; Lots of blood and torture; supernatural scenes and martial arts, etc. Cutting of limbs and other appendages, etc.
Reminds me in style of much older movie titled "Intimate confessions of a Chinese courtesan". Just much too cruel for my taste. I would give it zero stars, except I did like the costumes, so one star only for nice costumes and pretty faces of female actresses. All the rest is really ugly violent staff; not for me. I do not recommend it to normal people.
