Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), successful author and everyone's favourite fashion icon-next-door, is back, her famously sardonic wit intact and sharper than ever, as she continues to narrate her own story about sex, love and the fashion-obsessed single woman in New York City. Sex and the city finds Carrie, Samantha (Kim Cattral), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) four years after the hit HBO series ended, as our favourite friends continue to juggle jobs and relationships while navigating motherhood, marriage and Manhattan real estate.

Just ordinary. Never interested in the series. Characters were not really my cuppa, and movie way too long. However it did have some good messages and I'm glad I stuck it out.

A hilarious insight into the (impropable) lives of four attractive, unatached women in New York. Their attitude to men, it could be said, is boardering on the preditrory but full of fun.

Nice shoes, nice outfits, a couple of chuckles out loud but overall not really my cup of tea. It was long.

Like the series, which I didn't watch a lot of, SATC The Movie is full of lovely clothes and accessories and gives you a taste of NYC life. It is also predictable and a bit of cliched story. Despite this I still enjoyed the characters and there's no harm in daydreaming that I can wear those ridiculously high heels all day, or the designer dresses, or afford the shoes and handbags to match.

Although I was not a big fan of the TV series I loved this movie when I first watched at the cinemas and enjoyed it even more on DVD. The movie takes off when the TV series left off and where the four women are now in their lives five years on. The movie shows the closeness and bond that four women share, during good and bad times. Great cast, great movie, fun and fresh.

I confess, my wife watched this. She never saw the TV show, but she tells me that this was empty, shallow sex talk. Not very deep at all. Guess it's interesting as escapism then, but not if you're really interested in real character development

I did enjoy Sex and the City: The Movie. I was an avid viewer of the series when it was on, and I was most curious to see how the movie was rendered. Pretty much as far as I was concerned every thing that made the series a hit was there, plus a few extra twists to separate it from just being another episode, movie length. If you did'nt like the show you wont like movie so give it a miss if that is the case.

Vacuous beyond even a generous concession in the name of humour and 'girlyness'. Awful, turned it off after 20 mins.

I was not a huge fan but did watch the TV series occasionally - the movie is just an extra long (over 2 hours) TV episode. It is fine but will appeal most to fans of the TV series. Perfect for a girls only night.

Wow, this movie was boring! I really enjoyed the series; but this was painful. Over two hours long - it just wouldnt end. Very predictable. Very corny. Read a book instead.

One for the girls, even if it's just to remind us that romance still exists, and life usually doesn't work out like fairytales do.

I actually loved this movie and didnt think I would like it so much. I only watched the occassional episode when it was on television and thought it was a movie that I wanted to see but not to buy and I watched it about four times and loved it each time. Not sure where they could go with the second movie perhaps Samantha settles down and gets married oh heaven forbid that happening LOL A great film Totally recommend it

Being not a series fan I wondered what it would be like. It was very funny and I enjoyed it as a chicks flick, however had my hubby not been on nights I am sure he would have loved it for all teh other stuff!!! Very graphic,.

As a guy, it was interesting to fall into the minds of these women. I'm more of a fan of New York City, so I was captivated by the street life and people, as they lived their lives. Good scene are when they travel South of the boarder. Defiantly a 'women's social gathering' if anything, the film projects ideal situations and plays them out.

Great frocks, great setting, not a bad plot ... but where was the wit? At its best, the series had fantastic one liners and really snappy dialogue - this movie didn't. But I loved it anyway - did I mention great frocks?

Sometimes professional reviewers rave over a movie and it turns out to be rubbish; other times they will hate a movie and it is actually quite good ? this is one of those movies. Having never seen the TV series, for this viewer some of the references to past experiences and relationships were meaningless, but most of the story is self-contained in the movie, and it is variously colourful, funny, sad, romantic and ultimately, nice. There?s enough happening to keep it interesting. Sex-wise it is quite tame, any sense of raunchiness perhaps eroded by time moving on.

Am reviewing this from the boyfriends perspective, what could be worse than an episode? Yeah we know don't we? You may think you'll get some kind of brownie points for watching this with her, but once she considers things even there's no more remuneration. Sit through Titanic instead at least some of them end up dead.

Entertaining, but not as much fun as the series. Samantha was nowhere near as fabulously crass in this as she was in the show. And it really could have been a good thirty minutes shorter.

As a fan of the TV series, it was good to catch up with the girls again. The fashions are 'fantastical' - that Vivien Westwood wedding dress; OMG!! Carrie looked so beautiful. Jennifer Hudson adds a lively, sweet touch in her role as Carrie's assistant. Overall the film is a bit weepy, but it is also great, escapist fun!!

Excellent movie. A very realistic scenario about the wedding as being the most important thing instead of the husband. It was good to see the girls all back together again despite what you read in the magazines. I wonder if there will be another movie in the near future. Don't miss this one!

I love love loved this movie. Great story and great actors. The movie was just as fantastic as the series. I was worried it would drag on being 145 mins but it didn't drag on at all. The storyline was great from start to finish. 10 out of 10!

LOVED this movie, it was so great to see the girls again! We watched it at the movies. Even if you haven't seen an episode this is still an excellent film and the writers have done such a good job it wasn't corney or too predictable. I can't wait to see it again. Enjoy!
