Why is it that there are so many romantic comedies? Perhaps simply because we love the idea to be loved, and what better than true love by serendipitous meeting... The story is a little silly, but still cute. 3 stars.

One of my fave movies, warm and honest. John Cusack is brilliant, although I am a firm believer in "No fate but what you make". Still, the premise that love will find you if you don't look too hard, is interesting. I also like the comedy of the Department Store man and his annoyingly funny mannerisms. Bound to be good - being set in New York, as well.

This just didn't work for me. I didn't like either of the two lead characters, despite being a huge fan of both actors. The biggest problem with this "romantic comedy" is that although there is plenty of romance, there is very little in the way of comedy. It just isn't funny. Just to prove that I'm not writing this off because it's a "chick flick", I really enjoyed "Love Actually", "Notting Hill", "It Happened Last Night" and even "Mamma Mia", but "Serendipity" left me cold and totally unfulfilled. In my opinion a disappointment and only worth two stars. There are heaps of better romantic comedies around.

One of the best 'soul mate' films! Yes most would say it's a 'Chicks Flick' but even the guys should like this one. Watch it if you liked City of Angels, The Lake House, The Note Book... although it's a comedy and drama in one, not just all soppy :-p I'm not just giving this a 'chicks review'. To get an idea of my ratings worth... some of my all time favourite films are; The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, The Wedding Singer, Face Off, Remember The Titans... and many more...but you get the gist :-)

I just loved this movie. I have seen it a few times before but the magic is there everytime you watch it. It is so delightful and light hearted. Very much a "chicks flick" but men could enjoy it too. Kate Beckingsale portraits such an innocent soul and John Cusack plays a man who realises there is more to relationships and life than is right in front of you. Cheers!

Really enjoyed this one! Yes it's corny, yes it's sappy, yes there is a level of predictability but thats what romantic comedies are all about! Gets you thinking about the way life works and those little moments you think are just coincidences. Great Sunday arvo flick.

Boy meets girl with a twist. An interesting story line with a nice touch of sentiment and fun to keep it interesting and easy viewing.

Easy watching? Ask yourself. Are you in the mood for ninety minutes of puerile garbage about a man who's engaged to be married to a bimbo with the personality of a tire iron who suddenly becomes infatuated with a woman he only met once but longs to see again whom he discovers is trapped in an empty relationship with a guy who looks like Michael Bolton? Will you swoon when they eventually meet and go ice-skating in the snow while they exchange banal dialogue and predictably end up together even though they break Michael Bolton’s heart? Have you ever seen John Cusack so absolutely gob smackingly horn inducing? Have you ever wanted two people to be together so much? Yes this is easy watching all right, because what you’re looking at is a screen full of hot air.

Had seen it at the cinemas and thought it was good then, wasn't in a hurry to watch the DVD, but how wrong I was. A good fast moving movie where boy and girl just keep missing each other by the smallest margin, but fate eventually draws them back together at one of the original meeting places. Just about everyone should love this movie.
