Based on a Stephen King novella, the psychological thriller SECRET WINDOW is reminiscent of an Alfred Hitchcock film. Eccentric author Mort Rainey (Johnny Depp) finds his life spiraling out of control. With a drinking problem and a cigarette habit he can't shake, Mort can barely function when his wife (Maria Bello) leaves him and he abandons his work. In the midst of his anguish, a deranged man, John Shooter, (John Turturro) appears at Mort's New York cabin, claiming that Mort has plagiarized one of his stories. As his wife pushes Mort to finalize their divorce and Shooter systematically destroys his life, he struggles to restore order to an increasingly insane situation.

I didn't expect the twist to come until maybe 3/4 of the way through, but that didn't bother me so much.
The ending was a bit lame, though.

Based on the novel by Stephen King The Secret Window and The Secret Garden, Johnny Depp tries to convince an out of towner that he is the true author of a book he wrote in 1994. He is given an ultimatum that if he doesn't prove he is the writer within three days he will start to hurt the people he cares about, but is not allowed to go to authorities. As the movie progresses, the cracks start to show. Great movie with a great Stephen King twist. Good watch

I watched this because I like Stephen King and Johnny Depp. However, for most of the movie, I didn't really know what was happening, it didn't seem like there was a point to the whole movie. I quite like the twist at the end.

This one never really comes together. It's billed a a 'Hitchcock style' plot but fails to achieve the necessary slow building, stripped back tension. Instead the emergence of King's trademark 'monster from within' just seems pretty silly and the resolution left me, and I suspect Johnny Depp, yawning.

This Movie is so awesome to say the least. Some have said that its too slow or predictable, I didn't feel that at all. It was truly engrossing and the story is original. If the plot feels somewhat to over used it because people have copied Stephen King works, not the other way around. Be sure to listen to the directors commentary to hear how he shot it what he was thinking. I didn't realise all the undertones till I hear it. You wont get the full experience if you don't listen to the commentary.

I really enjoy these movies where there is a twist in the tale. How can you not? I call them brain benders.. You think the story is going in a certain direction, and then the last 30 minutes has you on a completely different track. A decent movie adaptation of a Stephen King short story. Johnny Depp is good and convincing in this role.

Secret Window is very Stephen King/Alfred Hitchcock, in the way it's story unfolds. The movie has a building suspense and is very intense in the last half. I won't give too much away here, but it was a buzz and I didn't suspect the twist coming at the end.
