Cannot recommend this film enough. Made on a shoe-string budget, this film never fails to deliver. Perfect if you like horror/thriller but don't like gore. A twist I never saw coming!

The only Saw film that isn't relying on the imagionation in the traps or the violence they cause. It's a very original horror film with a great mystery. Watch this one and hopefully enjoy it. The rest are basically overkill and an attempt on cashing in on this one's success.

Best movie! Scary how someone's mind actually works in this way, to make a movie like this- disturbing!

Two men are trapped in a room by a psychopathic sadist. Starts of reasonably well but succumbs to standard conventions of the genre in the second half. Had it been better directed there might have been something more there.

So much better then expected, Its really intence had me on the edge of my bed so original and really unprodictable its not for everyone, just remember there is a storyline its not just all blood and gore. Hell just watch it for its twist. 4.5/5

A cut above the over the top slasher film I was expecting. It is intense and horrifying, but it's far more intriguing and interesting than a typical horror movie. How can you shoot a movie in a grotty public toilet and hold interest? They pulled it off ...

One of the best thriller/horror/gore/slasher movies ever made. What's more, the guys who wrote it were from Melbourne and did the film on a shoestring budget - although it looks like a big budget film. Simply crazy movie!!

This movie is over-rated...although points to the creators for developing a concept that has been much-copied since. I was more creeped-out by the guy hiding in the cupboard in the girl's room than anything else and my stomach was churning at the end of it. Gotta say, I'm not a fan of horror movies and I won't be watching any of the other Saw movies. All of you horror fans can have this series to yourselves!

Excellent movie, with a fantastic plot, can't wait to see Saw 2. It was a classic wet your pants horror film with enough tension to snap you awake if you were in a coma!! Would definitely recommend it.

Not for the faint hearted the devilish deeds are portrayed in graphic detail and what the eyes don't see the brain pictures the end results in this macabre tale of a demented psycho. As much as it is shocking is also compelling as to why and what, not even I SAW the end coming as the plot had a final twist.

SAW was a good movie to watch, but it got a bit boring when you got into the middle and there needed to be more gore.

I saw this in the UK on holiday as a friend ordered it on Sky for me and I must admit this is one awesome film. 2 guys are kidnapped and chained in a delect bathroom by a unqiue kind of serial killer who set up games so the victim chooses if they want to live or die. The acting is brilliant, the direction throws in a lot of exciting twists, the effects fit in nicely without going overboard and I recommend watching this film more then once along with the other 2 seqeals to understand the twist ending which is ingenous. Its refreshing to see a new style of killer that breaks away from the usual stalk and slash and his games are rather exciting as it encorages the viewer to side with the victim esp. Amanda. Def worth the rental

This is a crime thriller of a different kind and with a unique twist. It is full of suspense and wit. Every turn reveals another choice to be made by the victims. Excellent, edge of your seat stuff!

Not for everyone, but otherwise seriously not to be missed. Mr Wannells acting may not be special but his story truly is. Kudos to all concerned.

Ask yourself, how much do you love life and what will you make of today? This has to be one of the most immersive and frightening movies of our time and will make you reassess your answer. Whilst view you feel imprisoned with any hope of freedom vanishing and you are left defenseless grasping at any small victory the main characters make in their bid to save their life, but at what cost?

The suspense and twists in this movie keep you on the edge of your seat. Similar in nature to a movie titled "Cube", the puzzles allow the viewer to be involved in trying to figure out what is going on! So if you like a good mystery, thriller and horror this movie is for you!

Think movies like Seven and Silence of the Lambs and eliminate any budget and hire actors who've just learnt their lines by rote (especially the two leads, one being the American accented Aussie screenwriter - was he there because they really truly ran out of cash?). Its sad that it to be "hip" you have to ramp up the gore.

IT was challenging and had me gripped for the most of the film - bet in the end there was just a touch too much hysteria and the final twist ultimately was far fetched .. i wont explain this - dont want to spoil it ... but in the end i was dissatisfied ( I was a big fan of SEVEN)
