The year is 2019. Television is now ruling people's lives. The most popular "audience participation" game show is The Running Man - where convicts can win pardons by defeating murderous henchmen known as stalkers in a giant arena complete with television cameras and a live audience. The stalkers have't had much of a challenge lately... but the latest episode stars Ben Richards (Arnold Shwarzenegger) and he plays to win.

I love this movie. It is an awsome, often forgotten SF classic.
That said, the acting is apalling, the plot makes no sense and what there is of it has huge holes in it. The action sequences are dodgey and effects are second rate. The real challenge is deciding who the worst actor in the movie is. I think its Mick Fleetwood, but its a hard call.
Regardless of all this, I really enjoy watching this movie.

I remember seeing this on VHS when I was only young and decided to rent it out to see how it stacked up now. It didn't disappoint. Plenty of hilarious one-liners and action, you can't ask for much more from '80's Arnold.

One day I hope they make a version of this which is actually based upon the book. That movie will clean up at the awards.

Remember watching this movie as a teenager. Have been looking for it everywhere and now stoked I found it. One of Arnie's best!

One of Arnie's best movies as it combines a lot of action with his best humour. I last watched this probably over ten years ago on VHS and thought I'd give the DVD a look. I was surprised at how well the film has aged and even seems relevant today. It's reality TV gone mad in 2019 and given the rubbish currently on TV, I found it quite plausible. Richard Dawson nails the portrayal of the TV show host, Damon Killian and the rest of the cast doesn't really matter. So grab the popcorn, turn the surround system up to ten and have a real blast.

This has to be one of Arnie's best movies, I have been looking for it for ages on DVD and very happy to see it on this site. Arnie has more 1 liners in this film than probably all of his others added together. Good action and humour, Arnie at his ass kicking best.
