Acclaimed filmmaker Jean-Jacques Beineix (Betty Blue) takes a walk on the wild side and offers up a mystical journey of romance and the sublime destiny that is so often just out of reach. A struggling student Thiery (Gerard Sandoz) drops out of school in pursuit of an apprenticeship as a lion tamer and meets the alluring Roselyne (Isabelle Pasco), who shares his newfound passion. When Thiery loses his job, the young lovers embark on a classical journey of discovery across France picking up the occasional job at the odd circus along the way. Their amorous adventure leads them to Germany and the formidable talent of Klint (Gunter Meisner), who offers his expert tutelage and training as master of the big cats.
