Moderate Violence

Director: Sylvester Stallone
Actors: Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Tarver, Burt Young, Milo Ventimiglia, Geraldine Hughes, James Francis Kelly, Tony Burton, A.J. Benza, Henry G. Sanders, Pedro Lovell, Ana Gerena, Angela Boyd, Mike Tyson

Thirty years ago he was a man with no future, working for a small time loan shark on the South Side of Philadelphia. When blind luck landed him the chance to enter the ring against reigning champ Apollo Creed, it was the million-to-one-shot of a lifetime. And all he wanted was to go the distance. His courage and perseverance, both in life and in the ring, gave hope to millions.

Now, glory has come and gone and Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), the one-time Italian Stallion, spends his evenings telling old stories to the patrons of his restaurant, Adrian’s, named after his late wife, whom he quietly mourns. His son (Milo Ventimiglia) doesn’t want to spend time with him; he’s too busy trying to live his own life. Time and knocks have humbled Rocky, deformed his fists, slouched his shoulders and taken away all he had except his old stories, but in his heart he’s still the same man. In his heart, he’s still a fighter.

The rocky series culminates with this final movie, The prequel, so to speak. it is one more Human Storey of Triumph over Adversity. Rockys life had changed demonstrably over the previous film. He lost his wife and in so doing his life and the will to live a decent life until the challenge. One line in the movie says it all " IT'S NOT THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU MIGHT BE KNOCKED DOWN BUT HOW HARD YOU FIGHT BACK." Bravo Stallone, You may not be the best of actors but a writer and movie choreographer you definatly are. A MOVIE WELL WORTHWHILE WATCHING.

Here i was thinking that Sly couldn't act for nuts but i actually got a lot of enjoyment out of this movie. The fight scene was fantastic and the plot was realistic in a way. I just hope he ends the Rocky storey on a high, no need for another one after this movie, well done.

As a ROCKY fan I was looking forward to seeing this final installation. Ofcourse knowing the years that have gone past I knew there would have to be changes but I cannot even express my disappointent in this. Terrible storyline, terrible plot and terrible ACTING which was the most shocking of them all. To other ROCKY fans I would not even bother with this one.

I've only ever watched Rocky V but it got me interested. The first 3/4 of this film are similar in style to Rocky V. The last 1/4 was an incredibly realistic fight between a real boxer and a highly-tuned Sly, trading real blows! Loved it!

Stallone takes Rocky back to the familiar surroundings of the original classic and if you haven't seen the various incarnations of Rocky along the way I would recommend this and the first Rocky as the ones to watch. Entertaining

After the last few Rocky movies I wasn't expecting great things from this latest instalment. I was pleasantly surprised to learn otherwise. This is probably the second best of all the Rocky movies and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it to all Rocky fans.

Rocky makes a comeback and presumably teaches his opponent humility, as well as finding a new love. Enjoyable but I found Stallone's 'look' distracting.

Watched this because my husband wanted to see it, but actually thought it was really good. Nothing like the previous Rocky films, has a really good storyline and makes you think about how you live your own lives.

I thought the idea for this rock film was an interesting premise - he's old and alone and fights the young, speedy current world champion. It was pretty disappointing I have to say. It was pretty predictable and overly sentimental. The acting at times was pretty heavy handed also. That said, it's funny to know that when considering making this film, Sylvester Stallone's children begged him not to - citing they were embarrassed - much like his on screen son in this film.

I grew up with the Rocky movies, so I'm biased. For fans of the very first Rocky movie, this installment has the same kind of heart. It's not an action flick, it's more character driven. I'll miss the Rocky & Paulie characters.

I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would, mainly because it was similar to the original Rocky movie with the kindest and warmth that was portrayed in the first movie. I enjoyed the photography of how Brooklyn was depicted and the romance between Rocky and his new found lady friend. All is good until the fight which in reality is impossible, but don't take it too seriously and you should enjoy.

I feel sorry for Sly Stallone - he has tried his very best it seems, and he is obviously fond and proud of the character that he created 30 years ago, but I couldn't for a second believe anyting that was happening in this awful film. The lines that he mumbles are cringworthy. (I'm surprised so many quickflix people enjoyed it). I did enjoy the first couple of Rocky films, but I was seven years old when I saw them! I didn't need to go back.

Better than I expected & without the usual build up to the fight it spends more time analysing what Rocky is all about in modern times & how HE remembers his days of fame & how people still perceive him as a hero. Quite deep for a Rocky movie with more sentimentalism for the character. Nice acting from Sly.

I know he is getting a bit long in the tooth, but after all the hype about this film I expected more of a punch up than what was delivered. A tender and emotional story with Rocky still stuck in the 70s with 1 good fight at the end. Worth watching but not what I expected from this long awaited Rocky film.
