The rocky series culminates with this final movie, The prequel, so to speak. it is one more Human Storey of Triumph over Adversity. Rockys life had changed demonstrably over the previous film. He lost his wife and in so doing his life and the will to live a decent life until the challenge. One line in the movie says it all " IT'S NOT THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU MIGHT BE KNOCKED DOWN BUT HOW HARD YOU FIGHT BACK." Bravo Stallone, You may not be the best of actors but a writer and movie choreographer you definatly are. A MOVIE WELL WORTHWHILE WATCHING.
Probably shouldn't have bothered.
Rocky Balboa : Well done a movie that is I think done after all of the others in this set about the life of a boxer. A little Vilent in parts but otherwise very good
Here i was thinking that Sly couldn't act for nuts but i actually got a lot of enjoyment out of this movie. The fight scene was fantastic and the plot was realistic in a way. I just hope he ends the Rocky storey on a high, no need for another one after this movie, well done.
Very good movie, a lot better then some of the previous efforts in the Rocky franchise.
As a ROCKY fan I was looking forward to seeing this final installation. Ofcourse knowing the years that have gone past I knew there would have to be changes but I cannot even express my disappointent in this. Terrible storyline, terrible plot and terrible ACTING which was the most shocking of them all. To other ROCKY fans I would not even bother with this one.
Very slow at times, and predictible. OK if you are a die hard fan of the Rocky Genre.
i enjoyed this movie. has been a long time since i saw the series so enjoyed it. the bloopers and the "alternate ending " were also quite good to watch
A great movie and a fitting conclusion to the legend of Rocky Balboa.
I've only ever watched Rocky V but it got me interested.
The first 3/4 of this film are similar in style to Rocky V.
The last 1/4 was an incredibly realistic fight between a real boxer and a highly-tuned Sly, trading real blows!
Loved it!
Stallone takes Rocky back to the familiar surroundings of the original classic and if you haven't seen the various incarnations of Rocky along the way I would recommend this and the first Rocky as the ones to watch. Entertaining
Great movie, makes me want to see all the other rocky movies again.
After the last few Rocky movies I wasn't expecting great things from this latest instalment. I was pleasantly surprised to learn otherwise. This is probably the second best of all the Rocky movies and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it to all Rocky fans.
Excellent comeback. Easily the best Rocky movie sent the first. Thoriughly enjoyable.
Rocky makes a comeback and presumably teaches his opponent humility, as well as finding a new love. Enjoyable but I found Stallone's 'look' distracting.
Wasn't sure what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. Great way to end the Rocky 'series' of movies and well worth the watch.
I loved this film, better than what I expected.
It's the end of an era!
It was as good as the others even though we heard it was not very good
nice story but a bit dated
Watched this because my husband wanted to see it, but actually thought it was really good. Nothing like the previous Rocky films, has a really good storyline and makes you think about how you live your own lives.
really good. very poingnet. ending is as hammy as you would think but the journey there is worth taking. i would see it again. as good as rocky 1.
Disappointing. Expected a lot more but with Sylvester Stallone you get the dumming down approach.
I thought the idea for this rock film was an interesting premise - he's old and alone and fights the young, speedy current world champion.
It was pretty disappointing I have to say. It was pretty predictable and overly sentimental. The acting at times was pretty heavy handed also.
That said, it's funny to know that when considering making this film, Sylvester Stallone's children begged him not to - citing they were embarrassed - much like his on screen son in this film.
I think that this is the best of all of the Rocky films. Totally brilliant, could watch it again and again!
As good as the other Rockys!!
I wasn't really impressed. A bit cringe worthy, the poor old darling (the operative word being old!)
DH liked it though, so maybe bloke-fest viewing
Good finale to the series, however 'Rocky's' acting has taken a beating. Not a show stopper, but a must for all Rocky fans!
A Rocky flick for the family. Not one of the best. A good ending for the series, and not too be missed by rocky fans, however not the best movie
Actually better than I thought it would be. You can guess the end, but still a pretty good watch if you have nothing better on.
not as bad as what i have been led to believe, not a bad flick for da fans
just Rocky crap once again, no depth to the movie, Blahhh
Great series finale, Must see even for people not "Rocky" fans
I grew up with the Rocky movies, so I'm biased. For fans of the very first Rocky movie, this installment has the same kind of heart. It's not an action flick, it's more character driven. I'll miss the Rocky & Paulie characters.
worth watching. wasn't expecting much but i enjoyed it.
It's Rocky!, not as he was, but still not too bad for a comeback more than one decade on
Not as good as Rocky 1 & 2. But its a watchable movie.
I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would, mainly because it was similar to the original Rocky movie with the kindest and warmth that was portrayed in the first movie.
I enjoyed the photography of how Brooklyn was depicted and the romance between Rocky and his new found lady friend.
All is good until the fight which in reality is impossible, but don't take it too seriously and you should enjoy.
one of the better rocky movies
thought this was a boring movie, very slow
Don't waste your time on this pathetic Sly movie. Not a patch on the original Rocky series.
Not bad, especially if you are a fan of Rocky!
This is a great movie. Forget the critics. Rocky back to his best. Just watch and enjoy it.
pretty much lacked everything that made the others good.
As a big Rocky fan I was a bit dubious about this one so many years after the first. I was very pleasantly surprised. The ending is probably a bit "tidy" but who cares. Enjoy.
If you love Rocky movies you will love this.
I feel sorry for Sly Stallone - he has tried his very best it seems, and he is obviously fond and proud of the character that he created 30 years ago, but I couldn't for a second believe anyting that was happening in this awful film. The lines that he mumbles are cringworthy. (I'm surprised so many quickflix people enjoyed it). I did enjoy the first couple of Rocky films, but I was seven years old when I saw them! I didn't need to go back.
was not over impressed, but worth the watch.
I had my reservations about another rocky film, after all how much punishment can this guy take? But i must admit, this was much better then expected. It had what u would say some Punch 2 it. I thought it was great. I give it 4 gloves up!
as good as the previous 5
pretty slow and predictable
only watch it for closure
What a movie! Loved it. The Rocky movies needed this one to finish off & tie things up. Alot of us could learn a few things from this flick. Highly recommend.
It was a great ending to a fantastic series of movies... Well done!
Nothing like rocky 1,2,3,4,5
Nah, only for real big Rocky fans.
Unlike the previous Rocky films where you can just watch it over and over again, (even just to fast-forwards to the montages and fights)
I'd watch over this one once, and then I've had enough.
Once again, only for real big Rocky fans.
This movie was really really boring.
Interesting to see Sylvester Stallone ,after all these years, can still ignite the excitement into the fight scenes, even if some back shots ,show an obviously aged body. Three stars.
Better than I expected & without the usual build up to the fight it spends more time analysing what Rocky is all about in modern times & how HE remembers his days of fame & how people still perceive him as a hero. Quite deep for a Rocky movie with more sentimentalism for the character. Nice acting from Sly.
I know he is getting a bit long in the tooth, but after all the hype about this film I expected more of a punch up than what was delivered. A tender and emotional story with Rocky still stuck in the 70s with 1 good fight at the end. Worth watching but not what I expected from this long awaited Rocky film.
Don't take me wrong. It's a good movie, but it's not like the other ROCKYs. It's a little bit weak and I'm not saying about Sylvester... I'm saying about the entire film.
i found it to be a little slow in getting to the action probibly should of left it with the last rocky movie
Pretty much a repeat of the first film, and Stallone has not aged well, but entertaining enough.
Gr8 acting from Stallone. Don't miss it.
The story line is very similar to the first Rocky movie. If you enjoyed 1, 2 & 3, you'll like this one. I enjoyed it.
