It is a newer longer version of the old horse, wich is just about flogged to death.Still a good entertaining flick on a cold night, even if I would not write home to Mum about it!!
A movie you can watch again & again. Not only for the excellent acting but also to catch the underlying humour all the way through the film.
This is the extended version which seems to have involved inserting all available completed scenes and other edits. The result is much more of the hilarious Alan Rickman massively haming it as the Sherriff of Nottingham plus his ludicrous witch of a mother. Costner stays as serious as ever - how could he keep a straight face playing opposite Rickman. Morgan Freeman retains an appropriate alouf dignity. But the massive continuity errors introduced!! We get glaring inconsistencies during scenes - Robin firing almost all his arrows and then the quiver is magically full again etc. And across scenes and almost the whole movie. It turns a portentious period epic into, virtually, a send-up. Its better for it thus the 4.
An enjoyable but different version of Robinhood
I love the good time oldies!
This was the 4th time I’ve seen this film, since its release. I enjoyed it as much as the first time.
Big budget, strong cast, weak script and predicable schmaltz.
