Not bad, though the ending is a major let down. This "coulda", "woulda" been a great scifi series with a little improvement in the scriptwriting, Worth a watch, but measure your expectations.

I read the series many years ago so was interested in how it would turn out as a telemovie. Disappointed

This made-for-TV movie was a maybe pilot for a possible series, so although there's a conclusion of sorts, it's left open for a series or sequel. Also, this ran as a 4 hour movie on the SyFy channel in the U.S., yet here it's two 85 minute episodes (I assume to get it on 1 DVD). So, unless there were 70 minutes of commercials, there been some editing done.

after reading the book some years ago, I was looking forward to seeing this movie, it was an anti climax, the caste were poorely chosen hence poor acting to the point of over acting and scripted badly. Not worth the effort D grade material

I read P.J. Farmer entire Riverworld series and was expecting this film only to be disapointed. You don't need huge budget to create a real masterpiece (See "Stalker" byTarkovsky). Although Farmer's work is not as deep as F.K.Dick or R.Bradbury one would still expect better treatment of one of America's great Science fiction writers. Goering, 25 year old population, huge cultural mix (nudity, no way) is removed so that does not confuse anyone who is accustomed to the sofistication of preschool Star treck franchise. This productions reminds me a B grade porn movie with aging "pretty" lead characters. Seriously dumbed down Hollywood production for internal use only.
