Set in the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro and the lush rainforest of Brazil, the comedy-adventure centres on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there's another - and that she's a she - he leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio. But it's far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent high-flying female Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime where they learn about friendship, love, courage and being open to life's many wonders.

The kids loved this. We watched it numerous times with them and it has enough to keep the adults happy in a children's cartoon as well. It frustrated me for the first 10 mins trying to guess who was voicing Blue... and then we sat back and let ourselves get immersed in it, enjoying the kids reactions and the happy ending that you just know has to be a part of a kiddy film.

This is a FANTASTIC film. From the opening scene until the very end this film captures you by its fun characters, beautiful animation and engrossing story. The music is great, the colours and scenery look amazing and the characters are bold and memorable. A great film to be enjoyed by everyone.

Lots of fun for all ages, decent computer modelling on the birds, quite lackluster on the humans but still fun to watch.

a fun and entertaining flick,butt for me ruined with singing and dancing, but thats just me. animated films are getting better and better, especially on blu-ray, cant beat it. I give this flick a 7 outta 10
