Actor: Richard Hammond

Using state of the art technology, Richard Hammond lifts the lid on planet Earth like never before, peeling back its layers to reveal a hugely complex machine unique in our solar system. At first glance, the surface of our planet appears solid and unchanging but every day there are at least fifty big earthquakes and twelve powerful volcanic eruptions. With the latest scientific information and bold CGI imaging techniques we travel to the centre of the Earth to reveal how the engine at its heart affects our lives, and drain the oceans to expose some of the hidden wonders driving our existence.

A very interesting and well presented doco, albiet expensive. But the main usual fault with doco's of this type is the continuing promotion of long ages and evolution with no room for alternative thought. Much unscientific guesswork was included in the explanations in the script regarding the central core which is suggestive.
