No day but today.

This film adaptation of Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning rock opera tells the story of one year in the life of a group of bohemians struggling in modern day East Village New York. The story centers around Mark (Anthony Rapp) and Roger (Adam Pascal), two roommates. While a former tragedy has made Roger numb to life, Mark tries to capture it through his attempts to make a film. In the year that follows, the group deals with love, loss, AIDS, and modern day life in one truly powerful story.

Feels limp, old and commercial where it should feel electric and daring. Anything good about this movie comes from the source material rather than the film itself.

Waited a long time to receive this dvd and it was worth the wait. If you love the music of Rent this dvd really brings it to life. I will probably request it again down the track.

The movie was predictable and had overtones of West Side Story. My 15 year old daughter loved it. The disc was faulty and as a result we could not view the conclusion.

Boring. It clearly loses something when moved from stage to screen.

Was quite dissappointed - after hearing so much hype, it was far from the best musical I've seen.

Having never had the pleasure of watching the stage show and not really knowing much about the movie, I watched with an open mind. Was impressed with the fabulous singing and thought it told a very sensitive story very well. I've heard mixed reviews from others who have also watched this but personally I loved it.

An good adaption of musical to movie, excellent songs and sets and it stayed true to the original musical. What let it down were some of the actors - no chemistry, singing voices a bit grating - and these were the ones from the original cast! Overall, very good

The storyline didn't really do much for me, but that was overshadowed by the magnificent songs within. The actors/dancers were all excellent and was nice to actually understand what they were singing. Their diction throughout was brilliant! Catchy tunes from the beginning, persuaded me to stick with it till the end! Not as enjoyable as Chicago, but certainly entertaining!

Violence doesn't go well with music. We didn't last ten minutes. As soon as people start killing each other and singing about it I want to chuck. The quality of performance sealed the deal.

Tedious! Not much dialogue, in the vein of the fizzer Phantom of the Opera. Go see it live?
