Violence and coarse language

Director: Max Mannix
Actors: Kippei Shiina, Gary Oldman, Kyoko Hasegawa, Misa Shimizu, Dirk Hunter, Akira Emoto

John Rain kills people for a living. His specialty is making it seem like death by natural causes but he won’t just kill anyone, his targets have to be principal players and never women. Half American and half Japanese but out of place in both worlds, Rain is not a good man, but he is good at what he does... until he falls for the beautiful daughter of the man he just killed. Now Rain must act directly against the codes of war he set himself and protect this girl before the CIA take her down themselves as collateral damage.

Total and utter rubbish. Definitely and only for japanese market with it's tipical sentimentality. Darkened shots, pathetic plot and childish fight scenes. Avoid unless you are Manga fan.

twaddle. tried really hard to watch it all but only got about two thirds through before finally giving up. have seen funeral insurance ads more riveting than this. even gary oldman's over-enthusiastic ham up couldn't keep my interest in a comedic relief sense. would rather watch the fire. all right then, moving right along....

Unless you are prepared to sit and watch the entire movie very very closely, this is not recommended. Majority of the movie has Japanese characters all speaking in Japanese, with English subtitles - only about 5% of the move is in English. Wish I knew this before wasting time on this movie (mail out, watching, return - all time consuming).

If you are into japanese movies this might be OK for you - for me though I gave up after enduring 30 mins - it was boring and far too slow with so many sub plots the story was unclear. Don't bother unless you are into the genre (I am assuming it is consistent with th genre).
