Pretty classic footage. Pretty basic doco. Interesting to see though.
This documentary centred on Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was training in his lead up to taking the 1975 "Mr Olympia" title for the 6th year in a row. His main rival in the film was "Louis Ferrigno" who did star as the green monster in the original TV series "The Incredible Hulk". It shows Arnie as a confident, positive, driven, competitive, ambitious, happy, friendly and charismatic person. Arnie tells us that you must feel pain for your muscles to grow. Other US body builders were covered, training in Gold's Gym.
A good insight into the world of bodybuilding at its early stages and a must see for all you gym junkies out there.
Awesome motivation if you want to lift stuff that is heavy.
If you like Arnie you will love this, but best of all are the extra features. Makes you nostalgic for the 70's.
Having seen this docudrama in 1977 when it was first released, I was rather keen to see it again. Apart from the hair styles and the clothes - real 70's stuff, the storyline is great, as the body builders themselves. But what makes this DVD really interesting are the special features, put together 25 years after the first release. How the film was put together and the how the characterisations changed. What the main characters are up to now - we all know about Arnie. The film has a level of humanity quite unexpected in what would first seem to be a heavily macho movie. Inspiring too for getting in shape for summer.
