An exact replication of the original but with worse fake blood. Vince Vaughn seemed to make uncomfortable comparisons, he's not a man who can really pull of a timid and weak shadow of a man, as the character is meant to be. This movie seems to go on forever and really makes you wish for the end, because you already know what's going to happen. This movie adds no extra suspense and does not put the story in a new light. Watch the original.

Just a pale imitation. All the actors just went through the motion. Vince Vaughan is no Perkins.

Not bad for a remake of such a classic movie. Good acting and close to the original story. And Vince Vaughn was really hot!

This film starts at awful, and only gets worse... The ironic thing about this film is that Gus Van Sant was clearly trying to show homage to Hitchcock by sticking so closely to the original, but in doing so could not have done a better job at completely butchering a classic. The first off-put of the film being the obviously fact that the film doesn't know whether it wants to be sent in modern 1998 or in vintage 1960, and ends up coming to a compromise by chop 'n changing between dialog, costumes and sets that look modern at times, and then vintage at others. The casting of Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates is perhaps the most heinous crime committed. Although a talented actor, completely unsuited for the meant to be, shy, small-presented, milk drinking, Bates. Like the film itself, the score has been taken almost directly from the original but hacked to an almost unrecognisable state. The only time I’ve seen the usually brilliant Danny Elfman drop the ball. You’ll need more then sandwiches and milk to wash the taste of this netherworld quality remake out of your mouth.

Talk about your yawn fest or what. Now everyone knows about the original Psycho but this is just dull and boring, just plods along with no action or thrills or anything. Really disappointing with all the names in the movie.
