From all outward appearances, Pippa Lee (Robin Wright Penn) leads a charmed existence. An anchor of feminine serenity, she is the devoted wife of an accomplished publisher (Alan Arkin) thirty years her senior, the proud mother of two grown children, and a trusted friend and confidant to all who cross her path. But as Pippa dutifully follows her husband to a new life in a staid Connecticut retirement community, her idyllic world and the persona she has built over the course of her marriage will be put to the ultimate test.

It never really got interesting. I am always surprised at how 'wooden' Keanu Reeves is, yet he still seems to get work!

Really good movie. Bit bothered by the glaring problems with age differences and the actors, but the story and acting was well done.

A good rainy day movie, but it's not for everybody. It was good to see Keanu Reeves again :)

IT was a little slow at the beginning to settle into the storyline.IT has a great cast and Robin and Winona were great. Sure this movie isn't about action or a suspenseful finish but more about the inner depths of relationships and family. The time went quickly enough watching interesting people get through the days of life.

Slow and boring. Grew up with a drugged mother went the same way herself till she met and older man. Flips back and forth - not that good.

Slow, slow, slow, reasonable performances, some scenes are poignant if you have ben there yourself, satisfying ending. It won't be the worst movie you watch???

Maybe I wasn't in the right mood for this movie because it depressed me. It is an interesting story though, woman approaching middle age with an older husband looking back over her life. I feek the book may have been better, though the screenplay and directing were by the original author. All the cast are excellent, even Alan Arkin who is always a bit wooden. Not sure about the tatoo - good discussion subject for the dinner table. Nice little ending to this movie.

Some people have complex lives, but you'd never know it unless they tell you their story. This movie is "Pippa Lee" telling her story: one that's complex, fascinating and unexpected. Makes for a good movie.
