really liked this movie, full of action. was better than i thought it was going to be. liked that the vampires were different. definately worth a watch.

We really enjoyed this movie - probably because we didn't have any expectations. Loved the new take on vampires and interesting take of the catholic church.

Not the most original take but good enough special effects and Paul Bettany is most watchable as always. Poor Karl Urban seems destined to play third rate parts these days.

Not big on the story line but it is BIG on action.

Great special effects and the film was completly over the top with its fantasy land setting. Not my cup of tea though.The story line was a bit shallow and inplausible .

Not your usual 'handsome young vampire' story more like 'Van Helsing' meets 'The Da Vinci Code'! ! ! ! The ending leaves it open for the four main leads( 2 priests/vampire hunters male & female, young heroine & boyfriend to continue with their next adventure, so will be interesting to see if it continues. Think I am more of a Twilight, Vampire Diaries girl than this type of violent, futuristic watcher! ! !

I love Paul Bettany and I quite enjoyed this, but it has been done before. There is no story to speak of it just seems to be a movie set up for the next one in the series. Even the special effects and stunts were pretty ordinary.

Terrible terrible movie. Slow and boring, cliche story. Dialogue was too soft to hear, action scenes were too loud. Really bad, save your time and watch something else

Yep Really liked the movie...Vampires weren't your normal looking creatures lol so made it interesting .....I'm not a huge vampire type movie fan but this one was quite gripping in places and it kept me watching till the end!

wasn't sure what to expect but found it was kind of a sci-fi/western movie with vampires = the ending was ok, not great but ok

Paul Bettany can really pick some stinkers. After the truly awful Legion comes this pile of tosh. Derivative, predictable and clichéd. The digs at organised religion are so simplistically and childishly handled that they are embarrassing. The effects look cheap, and the whole exercise is ridiculously bad. Put it in the box next to Book of Eli and burn the lot.

Worth watching

The Catholic Church is alive and well in this dark film may it be a little different. I can't wait for the second one

This movie was pleasantly better then I thought it was going to be. A typical plot that has been done to death, but they managed to pull it off - just.

Saw the trailer for this at the movies and thought it looked pretty good. Maybe my expectations were too high but it didn't live up to them. Having said that it wasn't too bad.

We found it quite good. Vampires a fair bit different than the normal. It is fair to say that the story could have been taken further and I do agree that the ending was a bit lame, but still a good watch.

This movie has a 3.5 star rating? Really? It was okay... not awful, but surprised that it's got such a high rating! Not bad... not great...

It's actually better than you would think -- I'm guessing "Legion" turned everyone off anything with Paul Bettany as an action hero. The finale feels a little lame (another "stop the train" movie?) but it does the job in a reasonably effective Matrix-like way. (Worth noting: Karl Urban channels Judge Dread, and it works! Diversity seems to be his middle name.)

Pitch Black , Blade Runner and vampire movies all rolled into one, enetrtainment without the b#@*it, just enjoy it for what it is.

A good movie if you like vampire movies.

Pretty enjoyable, cool mythology behind the Priests, but they really didn't do as much with it as they could have. Ultimately, one of those great potential, poorly executed films...

Thought I wouldnt like it, but love this guys acting and its worth the view for that very reason...

This was good, a far better movie than I had anticipated and I was quite surprised by its PG rating but the violence is stylised. Anyone who likes the underground comic novella's would enjoy this and eagerly await the sequels. The vampirey villains remind me of the the monster (before it puts its eyes in) in the beautiful Pans Labyrinth the Spanish/Mexican anti-fascist movie by Guillermo del Toro (I cant wait until he does HIS Vampire Trilogy - "THE STRAIN") go see the website! This is an enjoyable watch a believable steam-punk 1984 post-apocolyptic original creation. I wonder if he read the books of China Mi?ville (Perdito Station and Iron Council) they would also make good movies.

Maybe because I'm a big vamp film fan, I think this flick is entertaining. And, gosh, Maggie Q's hot!

Pretty good movie - good concept

Not everyone's cup of tea. Action-nuts will be thrilled. Enjoyed the sort of Equillibrium meets Resident Evil mix-up here. Paul Bettany's character a rogue priest, is just very, very cool.

I enjoyed this movie, I thought the special effects used for the vampires was great. I would like to read the comic/s to make comparison but overall I was entertained. Would be interesting to see if they make a Priest 2.

one of the better vamp movies i have seen in recent years. Full of action from start to finish with some good cgi. fans of this genre should get right into this one

I actually enjoyed this film. Not at the top of my list but okay story with some good moments and good effects. Would like to see a sequel which can hopefully improve on the first.

Was so promising but really just isn't great on most points. Poor dialogue. Poor sound. Great cast wasted!

If your after Mad Max II X Blade X a futuristic cowboy type movie then you should like this. The "Dirty Harry" vampire leader was a bit of a laugh. Have seen worse but have seen a lot much better. Pretty poor really.

Good movie, kept you watching it and not getting bored. Better then what Itunes customer's said it was like. Would love to see a sequel

What a waste of time - wouldn't even leave this on as back ground noise for the dogs when we were out! A total let down, with little to no story, a real disappointment as the cast looked good. If you're looking for a good film from Karl Urban then watch Pathfinder - it's a much better film, and that's saying something!!

I saw this at the movies while I was in the States. I'm glad I wasn't the one paying because this movie uses every cliche in the book whether they are relevant to the story or not. Nothing original here, just a huge waste of great actors. Karl Urban, Paul Bettany and Maggie Q... what the hell were you thinking when you signed on for this drivel? The story is so weak you don't even have a chance to connect with the characters before they try to dump you in the action, watch out for the train scene they stole from Zorro.
