Actors: Kevin Costner, Will Patton, James Russo, Olivia Williams, Larenz Tate, Tom Petty

In 2013 there are no highways and no dreams of a better tomorrow - only scattered survivors across what was once the United States. Into this apocalyptic wasteland comes an enigmatic drifter with a mule, a knack for Shakespeare and something yet undicovered: the power to inspire hope. Dances with Wolves double Academy Award winner Kevin Costner directs and plays a wayfarer in a world where might makes right - but destined to lead a heroic rebellion where right makes might. Sweeping battle scenes, breathtaking wilderness vistas and touching moments of personal triumph combine to ensure "The Postman delivers!" (Jay Carr, The Boston Globe).

If you like Kevin Costner movies then you'll like this! If you don't then don't bother!

A long movie but really provokes a lot of after thought. The book is better but I have to say the film is very exciting too.
