In this Walt Disney classic, which earned 14-year-old British actress Hayley Mills a special Honorary Academy Award for best Juvenile Performance, the imaginative, optimistic, and inquisitive orphan, Pollyanna Whittier comes to live with her cold, very wealthy Aunt Polly Harrington in 1912. Despite the many rules and roadblocks to happiness set up by her emotionally repressed relative, Pollyanna constantly searches for the small pleasures that brighten her life, and the lives of those around her. However, when something happens that finally threatens to kill Pollyanna's spirit for good, Pollyanna may need more than good will to overcome some harsh realities.

After watching this movie, I feel like going and reading the book to find out what actually happend. Theres a lot of sup plot that i think is a nod to the book, but doesn't really made sense unless you know all the back story. Not a bad one for the kids.

Often when I watch movies that I loved as a child, I am disappointed. Not so with this movie. It is full of the childish charm that I loved and have no hesitation in giving this to my children (if I had any).

Good old school movie ... loved the "no swearing"!!! I so loved this ... I'm gonna buy the movie ... same class as "Sound of Music" You'll luv it!

One of the movies which I wanted my 6 year old daughter to watch, to see about seeing the good side to things.
It was a little slow / complex in some part for her, but she wanted to watch it again the next day.

Pollyanna has always been one of my favourite movies from as far back as i can remember. it is a story of a girl who gets adopted by her strict aunt. Pollyanna trys to get on her aunts nice side, and wants to make everyone happy. this movie is an old classic, and Hayley Mills will be sure to win your heart over in Pollyanna.
