When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. Director Robert Zemeckis makes the best of both worlds in this big-screen adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg's books, as although the film is computer generated, the characters are all modelled on real human performances. A boy who doubts the magic of Christmas is taken on a train ride to the North Pole to meet Santa Claus (Tom Hanks).

This is a wonderful story for adults and children alike. A lovely moral to the story. It is beautifully animated. Tom Hanks character is endearing.

Another movie about the Christmas spirit. Good animation, and a fun story line. HD-DVD isn't required for this title. Worth watching, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again. Some great scenes that remind me of roller coasters.
