A haunting tale of adventure and dreams, Peter Pan has thrilled audiences around the world since it premiered on a London stage 100 years ago. But J. M. Barrie's classic story of the boy who wouldn't grow up - and the girl whose family insists that she must - has never been fully realized onscreen.

Until now. Universal Pictures, Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios are proud to present the first live-action feature film version of Peter Pan since the silent era. And for the first time, a boy - Jeremy Sumpter (Frailty) - stars in the title role, opposite Jason Isaacs (The Patriot, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) as Captain James Hook.

In stifling Edwardian London, Wendy Darling mesmerizes her brothers nightly with bedtime tales of swordplay, swashbuckling and the fearsome Hook. But the children become the heroes of an even greater story when Peter Pan flies into their nursery one night and leads them over moonlit rooftops through a galaxy of stars to the lush jungles of Neverland. Wendy and her brothers join Peter and the Lost Boys in an exhilarating life free ofgrown-up rules, while also facing the inevitableshowdown with Hook and his bloodthirsty pirates.

I absolutely loved this movie, a great classic and wonderfully casted! My 8 yo son had a smile on his face all the way through this movie even though he said he didn't want to watch it (only because he didn't know the story) ....he secretly loved it, especially the croc! I think he even enjoyed the childhood romance between Peter and Wendy. Definitely recommend it!

Although I would say this is a fantastic film, I watched it first and decided that my 3 and 5 yo children are still far too young. Hook is truly terrible, much more violence than Disneys Peter Pan, and the children are not quite as sweet with lots of references to kissing - why must they do this to our children? So I have sent it back and maybe in a year or three......not a complete loss though as I quite enjoyed it!
