Without the head of Ong Bak- the village will fall into ruin. All hopes rest on the shoulders of orphan villager Ting- a reluctant but gifted Muay Thai boxer. Ting must travel to the seedy streets of Bangkok and fight to reclaim Ong Bak for his village.
Ong Bak contains the most devastating martial arts ever filmed! No stunt doubles, no Computer graphics - just the awesome power of martial arts' newest master- Tony Jaa.

A Thai villager is sent to Bangkok to retrieve a Buddhist statue which was stolen. An action movie that is driven by its outstanding martial arts fights. These Thai’s know how to do it unlike the Chinese who seem to have forgotten. 3.5 stars

If you enjoy fight scenes you will find a lot in this movie. The storyline is weak and illogical, but some really good chase scenes. The foreign fighters in this movie deserve being beaten up for their acting alone, let alone their overly obnoxious on screen characters. If you do not enjoy overly long, often highly unrealistic, fight scenes give this one a miss.

Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan would be proud to work with this bloke. For a relativly low budget movie, they have done well.

I'm not a fan of the genre, but being married to a fan means I have to sit through the occasional martial arts flick. But this film was great and I recommend it! The guy in it is amazing and has some skills ;-)

Good action sequences, though annoying how they are repeated in slo-mo. Story pretty standard, generic characterisation. But what can you expect?

Tony Jaa is a martial arts actor to keep your eye out for, this film highlights his exceptional skills and should be watched by any fans of this genre. I don't like reading subtitles but this film is so good I hardly noticed I was reading them.

Not the greatest storyline in the world -BUT the action and fight scenes more than make up for this.

Some amazing action scenes, however a little long and often repetitive.

This is one of the most amazing martial arts movies I have ever seen. Having to read the subtitles is a bit of a drag but if its action you're after then this is the flick for you. Tony Jaa is absolutely incredible and his acrobatic skills can only be compared to the likes of Jacky Chan. For anyone who likes the Muay Thai kickboxing style, this is a must see.
