boring and pretty pointless
idnt think this movie was to bad, better than a lot of others we have watched.
After reading all the Stephanie Plum novels, this was a big disappointment. The novels are fun, light reading but it just didn't come across in this movie. The casting was all wrong. Ranger was way too short, Joe was supposed to be Italian (this was played by an Irish actor), Debbie Reynolds was hopeless as Granma Mazur. And Stephanie herself just didn't work - Sandra Bullock would have been great in this part.
Without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen! Badly miscast and appalling acting - even the actors know they are in a dog of a movie and are obviously only doing it for the paycheck. Quicklflix, please take note - you should allow no stars as an option as this movie isn't even worth one.
Nothing spectacular, but a a pleasant watch.
I love the Stephanie Plum novels, so when I saw this I had to watch it. It's cheesy as can be - just like the novels, but an enjoyable crime/comedy chick flick.
Don't expect anything more. But it's fun and lighthearted.
I hope they make the sequels to honour the books.
easy to watch, I am a Heigl fan so she didn't disappoint. Yes a little far fetched but good movie to chill out and unwind.
Disappointing - Did not watch the full feature
plain and simple easy to watch movie had no complaints except that it was a little predictable but otherwise loved it and would watch again.
Great little movie - but I found it hard to believe that a non experienced, untrained female could just walk into a job as a bounty hunter and bring in a skilled guy who has been on the run. Have to have a great imagination for this one.
Funny movie, but had problems with disc at the end.
I liked it, but found it was a little predictable. But hey gotta love grandma and the gun.
Loved it and hope there are many more movies been made. I have read all the 18 books of Stephanie Plum. Having not done so I found there being so many characters a bit confusing. The characters wernt as I imagined they would be but guess that is a personal observation.
Just terrible. Worst Heigal movie EVER!!!!
BORING even on fast forward.
I didn't mind this at all. Funny without being hilariously funny but good dialogue throughout, spoken in that interesting and laid back New Jersey accent, with Katherine Heigl providing a sort of running commentary on her actions and thoughts, as she tries to earn some money as a 'bails bond person' .
Naturally, she bites off more than she can chew but is saved by 'Ranger' and 'Joe' - 'Joe being an ex: boyfriend and the person she is trying to find. Things go a bit haywire when she realises 'Joe' may not actually have committed the murder she is attempting to bring him in for and she decides to try and work out who the real guilty person is.
You could do worse than spend a couple of hours watching this.
Was a really good movie way better than i thought it would be.
I actually really liked it!!
Good easy to watch movie.
Enjoyable, but after reading every single book the character of Stephanie wasn't really a Heigl in my imagination. Not bad characters for Joe and Ranger. Didn't really do the book justice. Let's see if they make another??
I normally like Catherine Heigle films - but this was pretty C grade. Even Debbie Reynolds couldn't lift the profile of this movie.
How's about giving me an extra movie in the next lot sent to replace a bad watch. How's about sending me three next time to make up for it.
Very good cop bad cop. Hate to say it but she is a little unbelievable in the role, but saw it through to the end and it was mildly entertaining.
unconvincing & uninteresting
Heigal's worst movie to date. Don't bother with this one.
Enjoyable movie to watch, if you are not after an oscar winner but just want to be entertained this will do it. It is not a Bourne movie or a Pirates movie but it is fun and worth the watch.
I like the books amd read them all time..I found this movie boring and takes along time to get into it and it really doesn't. I was very disappointed in it . I will be sticking to the books.
I felt it could have been better, but still enjoyed it. I soooo want to give it 4 stars, but it didn't quite get there. LOOOVED Loola! And the interaction after Morelli's car got blown up. I would like to see a series of these so the characters could develop more.
I was looking forward to this film adaptation of the first of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Bounty Hunter novels, but I found myself quickly disappointed. Not in the casting, for I found Heigl to be quite acceptable for the role, as well as the leading male roles, especially the part of Ranger. Not so keen on Debbie Reynolds as Grandma Mazur, I had a more Estelle Getty kind of character face for the part - Debbie (bless her!) has had a lot of face work over the years and she's looking too good for someone who spends recreation time at the local funeral parlour. What I was disappointed with was the pacing of the movie and the cinematography: the pacing was too fast for the lacklustre use of the camera; it seemed to me the filming was in three shots, wide, close up and panoramic and nothing much else - no build up or tension, it was all paced at a trot. The director captured the storyline good enough, but it didn't excite me like the Plum novels do. In the hands of a more experienced director, there could have been a lot more done with this film. And I will add that there lacked also a certain slapstick quality that the novels have in abundance. There could have been a lot more made of Lula, even for the smaller part she has in the first novel, unlike the rest of the series. It could have been a lot funnier. Maybe a sequel will be better. I wonder what other Evanovich fans think?
Have seen better, ok movie.
Nothing to rave about but an ok watch
As someone who is a major fan of the book series, I was disappointed with this movie. Perhaps it's because I've read all the books over the last few years, I've had the time to make a mental picture of all the characters. I don't think the casting was the best. Heigl would not have been my choice for Stephanie. She got the accent down pat, but I just can't see her as Stephanie. Wonder if there will be more movies??
I loved this movie, it had it all the chick flick romantic chemistry, a little bit of action, a strong independent female and last but not least if was funny.
Just what I needed to relax after a stressful day of work and child wrangling.
Katherine Heigl is smoking in this movie!!!
