Mild themes and comedic violence

Director: Walt Becker
Actors: Robin Williams, John Travolta, Justin Long, Seth Green, Kelly Preston, Matt Dillon, Bernie Mac, Dax Shepard, Rita Wilson

Two best friends - one unlucky-in-love divorcee (Robin Williams) and the other a fun-loving bachelor (John Travolta) - have their lives turned upside down when they're unexpectedly charged with the care of six-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives. The not-so-kid-savvy bachelors stumble in their efforts to take care of the twins (Ella Bleu Travolta and Conner Rayburn), leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to a new-found understanding of what's really important in life.

Very Disney, very predictable but we got some laughs out of it so it scrapes through for 2 stars. They are looking old though...

This Disney tag certainly acts like a neon sign for putting your expectations low...yet another "comedy" starring really tired actors Robin Williams and John Travolta. The title OLD DOGS is very appropriate when it comes to these two, who basically coast through their roles as middle aged men who have to become unwilling parents to both kids and dogs. The entire movie is crammed full of forced jokes and alot of attempts at slapstick comedy, which mostly fall flat. It's so cringeworthy. I really tried to like this movie but just couldn't. AVOID!

This would be one of the worst movies I have seen in a long long time. After trying for an hour, I read the paper in front of the screen while the rest of the family watched it. Didn't hear many laughs from them and they said they didn't really like it much.

Not particularly funny, nor clever. The talents of Travolta and Williams are not used in this plodding formulaic piece.

This is probably the most unfunniest movie I have seen in a long time - aside from Kenny - another shocker. It relied on many sight gags that just didn't cut it, and it was almost as thought Robin Williams has been restrained for this movie. I literally got bored

The talents of Travolta and Williams were not enough to carry this movie. Storyline was quite weak and predictable. Probably needed better direction. Would be OK for kids to watch, though.

Lame Lame Lame! Totally gay. Not funny, It looked so funny on the trailer right? Well it aint at ALL like the trailer. It sucked. Totally Wouldnt recommend it to anyone! It was just two actors making up lame sense and making to look random and fuunnny? It wasnt even worth ONE star.... seriously stupid!

You would think that with John Travolta and Robin Williams that this movie would be good. You would be wrong. It was so disappointing, the few mild chuckles were more out of embarrassement for the actors. It was a nice idea, but very poorly executed.

This had everything a good family movie needs...laughs, a few teary eyes (for the real sentimental parts) and leaves you feeling good. And Robin Williams laugh is just infectious. Loved it. As for Miss Ella Bleu....hows that for your first film...you get to act with your mum

Oh dear - I didn't realise this was a disney movie. John Travolta is good standing still but this was a sad waste of Robin Williams - Vinnie Barbarino meets an old Mork!!! Probably okay for whole family viewing. Interesting to see John Travolta's wife and daughter. I don't think I'll be watching it again.

This is a shocker. Twenty minutes in and I wished I were dead. Unless you have children you must share a TV with, don't bother. Even if you do love John Travolta.

This is classic comedy that you would expect from these top actors, we had Grandchildren to stay when we watched this and had to repeat it several times as the whole family enjoyed it, modern storyline, good acting with nothing offensive, loved the children as the young twins. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this movie for an all round good evenings viewing for the whole family.

Looooved John Travalta paired with Robin Williams, they bounced off each other beautifully. This was real comedy (unlike The Hangover), no language,no smut just down-right funny. Yes it is a MUST see for the whole family. Bigpond or members can you recommend other dvds like this...PLEASE!!.

The is an funny and enjoyable movie. John Travolta and Robin Williams are great together and work off one another really well. John Travolta show how talented he is, he can do a action movie like To Paris with Love and then do comedy, in this movie. A family movie worth watching.

I love a good comedy, by that I mean one that can make one laugh no matter what mood one's in. Just outta hospital, not meant to laugh well, had to pause a couple times. Having kids and being single mum helps. But I loved this movie, funny, serious and romantic all in one, well played Johnny and robbie...they played well together, Well worth a Watch, I say..

Fairly good family type movie that kids will probably enjoy. Out of the blue in the middle of the movie, there are a few scenes which are absolutely hysterically funny. We were laughing sooo hard we had to pause the DVD and take a break.... so after 15 minutes of hysterically funny scenes, it went back to normal....... haven't laughed so much in years and years.. very well done....

Was surprised to see bad reviews and so went in not expecting much. Pleasantly surprised though! Not a riveting story but had plenty of laughs including a couple of totally hilarious scenes that still make me laugh just thinking about them!!! Don't analyse the plot too much and you'll enjoy the chance to sit back, relax and have a giggle! :-)

After all the reviews, I wasn't expecting much at all. But it managed to better my expectations. There was quite a cast in this film. I love Robin Williams, even though he isn't as funny as he used to be. And Ella Bleu Travolta was great in her debut.. Couldn't stand looking at John Travolta's hair do. Ick.
