Directors: Jacques Perrin, Jacques Cluzaud
Actor: Pierce Brosnan

Nearly three-quarters of the Earth's surface is covered by water and Oceans boldly chronicles the mysteries that lie beneath. Directors Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud (Travelling Birds) dive deep into the very waters that sustain all of mankind, exploring the harsh reality and the amazing creatures that live within. An astonishing look at the world of the oceans, with never-seen-before imagery captured by the latest underwater technology, it is awe-inspiring stuff. Shot over four years, it reveals inspiring wildlife, including endangered marine species. Not a standard nature documentary, its also part thriller and part meditation on the vanishing wonders of the aquatic world. It's a powerful celebration of our underwater world; a world that requires our attention. Visually spectacular yet with a salient eco-message, it will mesmerise and educate in equal measure.

The title should be 'Ocean Life' - the narration [quite unnecessary] could have been made more boring - they could have used that 'droning' Yank Peter Coyote - but, in all, just another documentary - oh, and all those places they filmed... there must have been a pile of film on the cutting room floor to have only ended up with 75 minutes

Beautiful images and photography. I showed my 5-8 year olds this in class during our 'Ocean" theme unit, they were enthralled.

An excellent documentary with some exceptional photography. Pierce's narration is no worse than the narration on any documentary, I have never heard a good one yet, they all sound totally bored and un-interested.

A surprising up close and personal account of our oceanic friends. Great camera and production work. Will challenge our fishing techniques.

great footage. shame it comes from a strong evolution stance. Can't see how anyone can come to that conclusion after seeing that amazing footage.

Visually stunning images. Pity about the tedious commentary by Brosnan, I would have preferred no commentary at all. Mood music would have been better. Definitely worth looking at.

Amazing documentary, a must see. Enjoyed tremendously watching the innocent graceful creatures immersing themselves in joy in the weightless ocean. Makes one reflect on how much respect and love we need to keep the oceans a sacred space and let's put an end to our pollution !
