A powerful, affecting 2 part drama that traces the lives of three of British soldiers from the first moments of the invasion of Basra in April 2003 to the present. Having participated in the invasion and helped to fly an injured little girl back to Manchester for treatment, Danny, Mike and Hibbs each decide to return to the chaos of Basra. Danny for the rich financial pickings, Mike for love, and Hibbs because he passionately believes in the mission to rebuild the country and help the Iraqi people.
