When the news drops about the opening of the E.C. borders between France and Belgium in the early ‘90s, a loud cry of panic goes up on both sides of the border. Nowhere is this more loudly heard than at the border control. Ruben is a Belgian customs officer with an abiding hatred of all things French. Mathias is a French customs officer who’s secretly in love with Ruben’s sister, Louise, the girl from the chocolate shop. The would-be couple’s love will be tested by a series of hilarious misunderstandings involving a drug smuggling ring, a Gaul-hating Belgian father, and Ruben’s desire to see his sister get married…to a fellow Belgian, of course. So get your passport ready, because it's waffles vs. camembert, in a frenzied fight to the finish! FRENCH LANGUAGE WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES

If you don't mind foreign movies with subtitles, this is a pretty good one to watch, if not for the humour it also provides some interesting information on recent European history and how it affected neighbours. No wonder they still their problems.

There is something about French comedy that I find highly amusing. It's not a overly special film but is still worth a watch. Yes it does have subtitles but that's part of the fun I think.

Funny. It brings to light the absolute stupidity of racism in a very whitty way. really enjoyed.

Awesome movie! Loved it! It helps if you speak French though since lots of subtle jokes just cannot be translated.

Definitely nothing much to declare about this very unfunny thin plot. A very light slapstick style French comedy, similar to many made by the yanks. Overacting by the Ruben character stretched my patience, and his habit of drawing a gun and shooting at practically everything became ludicrous and tiresome. The end 2 minutes was too crass to endure.

Good for a laugh. Thought this movie was funny. My wife is french and she like it little more than i did. Probably because the translation is not perfect as it's very hard to translate figure of speech. But it's a funny movie.

A few good jokes which are enough to make this film a good one, not enough to make it a great one. Humour maybe hard to catch for Aussies at times, the laughs are more in the middle of the movie with a slow start and an end lacking substances. Still entertaining.
