This is a great movie.
Has Gene Hackman ever made a bad movie?
Not a fan of Keven Costner but he was great in this.

This was a reasonable movie as spy thriller type, but the acting was wooden to say the least. I would expect kostner and hackman would not admit to this being one of their best . Yes the story line and constant twists in the the tale helped the movie . The cinematography was definitely dated and not a patch on the modern suspence thriller , still it was an enetertaining movie , and will be enjoyed by those who like this particular genre.
An intense film and kept the interest throughout.
I really like this movie. It's the film that made a star out of Kevin Costner. He's a Navy hero who gets seconded to work at the Pentagon, where for years rumours have circulated of a mole for the Russians working there. There's a murder, he didn't do it, but he's involved, as is the Secretary of State (an excellent Gene Hackman). The plot gets cracking from this point on and so does the suspense and action. There's some great supporting acting from Will Patton and Sean Young and a great surprise ending. Well worth watching.
a very good thriller i enjoyed it
Great thriller with a neat twist at the end.
For all its plot faults, this is a rattling good film. This is my third viewing and I found it just as exciting as the first, even knowing the surprise ending. Great acting and filming by all concerned.
Interesting, good storyline, and a good reminder of how things were in the past - no mobiles, 80s hair styles etc.
Nice to see real stockings too.
Early Donaldson film, although dated still holds you in suspence.
A good thriller if you havn't seen it before.
Edge of your seat stuff! Patton's performance was first class
Unexpected twist at the end. Improves slightly as the story unfolds.
