Great movie - but too sad an ending. Couldn't watch again - too emotional.
Great movie, natural, and very insipring..
A deeply moving and unexpected movie. Excellent performances from Diane Lane and Richard Gere. Up there with one of the best.
the book is better - Nicholas Spark is an awesome writer - so I dont know why " they" keep changing the story
Great acting from Richard Gere and Diane Lane in the wonderful setting in a guesthouse at the edge of the ocean.
Definately a chic flick - bit slow and my hubby got bored. Richard Gere looked hot though as usual.
This movie is so good, make sure you have a box of tissues with you, it had a plot which did a complete turned around....great...
Terrible film. Would have to one of Richard Gere's worst films!
Midday melodrama at its best (or worst). Pretty average, but expected fare from Gere and Lane. A lot of cringeworthy moments, but it will probably please its target audience.
not what I expected... totally different and unexpected ending.. I was actually a bit disappointed
One of my most unfavorite movies of all times. What a waste of time!
loved it, girlie girl movie but very enjoyable - predictable.
The ultimate 40-50yo female "wet dream" movie. It had everything they could ask for and thus was about as close to real life as Mary Poppins. I hope Gere was paid lots to go along for the ride. The only humane thing the director did was not to give a happy ending, a rare touch of reality. This one is definitely a story for the chicks and their dreams. Guys, just grit your teeth and go along for the ride like Gere.
Loved it, loved it, loved it ! Great chick flick
Dianne Lane is outstanding in this movie, very believable. Her portrayal of a woman suffering the loss of her lover was gut wrenchingly real. Much better than the average chick flick. Reminded me of the saying, "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". No bad language or distasteful sex scenes either. Enjoyable feel good movie.
A simple movie - I'm sure the book would be better. Loved the kookie old house and the final scene is brilliant. Certainly a watchable movie.
lovely chick flick enjoyed it very much
Great cast Diane Lane and Richard Gere! But movie was disappointing! The storyline was predictable and boring!
Not sure if it's everyone's cup of tea because it's aimed at an older audience (say 35 and up). It might seem like a chick flick but it's more of a romance with some resonances for people who have been in longer term relationships and / or divorce. Not sure I really bought into all the scenarios because I didn't feel they sold them very well or deeply. Good scenery and atmosphere.
good chick flick and tear jerker no good for the boys.
Beautiful story how someone can enter your life for a short time
A bit slow to start and I found myself squirming in the sceen after she had the fight on the phone with the husband and came back to "Let Go'' by putting music on and starting to Dance
Terrible. Over acted and trashy to the point of embarrassment. Waste of time.
A very slow movie from start to finish. Probably not one you can get the men interested in!
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The unpredictable end made for great viewing. Definitely not a waste of time!
Message in a Bottle, The Notebook then Nights in Rodanthe ... love one ... love them all ...
Very depressing, and there didn't seem to be much of a zing between Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Pretty much a pointless, lightweight movie. Also, it has a strange soundtrack, lots of blaring American country music which only occasionally seemed appropriate.
I liked this movie and i nearly cried at the end when Richard Gere dies in it. Such a great movie
we loved the movie, fanststic acting ,very easy to watch, would recommend it to anybody, as most films with Richard Greer in it, beautiful
I really liked the movie however it is a real tear jerker
What was Richard Gere thinking? And Diane Lane? This is an appaling tear-jerking romance that fails on every level. Gere looks disinterested. Lane fares better. The guesthouse location was superb.
One star for the guesthouse.
PS. My wife quite enjoyed it...so go figure.
Just loved it, kept waiting for him to reappear, not predictable
Read the book.Much better! The story line was a little bit different to the book. I felt the acting was good, they did the best they could with a let down of a script. A little disappointing for Nicholas Sparks fans, but still a soppy, girly, tissue movie. All in all, not bad, but could've been better. You decide...
Very nice film with good performances by Gere and Lane. Visually beautiful to look at, some may find it melodramatic, but still enjoyable.
wow - what a movies richard gere and dianne lane were fantastic - a modern day tear jerker set at the beach - I was an absolute mess at the end. I didnt want the movie to end.
Very realistic - a definite must see.
An uneventful modern day tear jerker.
just watched it, what a tear jerker, what an ending. Richard Gere is still great, Diane Lane is great too
